It's interesting that you should ask that, as I just happen to be working on something that would answer this question...

Mine would look like #8's. I so wish they had kept that design for the 2005 series.

Mine would have that interior as well, and the outside would be a soda machine.....that worked! |

70's style....shag carpeting, roundrels, lava lamps, disco ball and bad mustard colored console...I'd have one room made entirely out of chocolate- so I could sustain my chocolate fix by eating a wall. Sorry, it is amazing how strange your thoughts go when on nyquil.

Very nice! Love the plasma discs. What TARDIS couldn't benefit from a little Borg technology?

Thanks guys, Brian shot me the link to his post so I joined up. This is my console, custom design with a lot of update/classic elements in it. its been a process, learning as I go but fun at the same time. Glad you like the plasma discs they are the update telepathic circuits And here is a little video I shot walking around it.

I hadn't made the connection that they were the telepathic circuits - that's brilliant, you'll actually get some on-set interaction with the prop there. And I love the big old adding machine buttons on the next panel. Actually, in reading through this post I remembered that I did already cook up my own TARDIS of sorts, as a cover image for a book project that's been bubbling under very slowly in the EG skunkworks... The grizzled toy-collecting veterans here will probably realize that this is made up of the Dapol and CO TARDIS consoles, the "seal of Rassilon" lid from a Dalek collectors' set box, an interesting couple of pieces of packing foam with ready-made "roundels", and so much composite photography that it's just about scary. The idea was to make it a combination of the old and new consoles, and to make it as seamless as possible. (I watermarked some of these way back when I was a bit paranoid about the project. I'm less paranoid about the project these days, when I'm more paranoid about whether or not I'll ever have the time to actually finish it in my lifetime. The book also needs a new title; I picked "Vworp!" without realizing that there was a fanzine in the works elsewhere called "Vworp Vworp", so now I'm faced with coming up with something else that isn't completely lame. The fact that it's taking so long to write helpfully minimizes the importance of the title-less-ness of the whole endeavour.)Various lighting apparatus, and how to keep a Dapol console at the same height as the CO console. Making the "walls" - really more of a ceiling, truth be told. With CD cases for walls. The two pieces of packaging foam came from - of all things - a foot massage water tub thingie I got for my wife several years ago. Budget for the shoot (not counting the toy collecting): $0 Not nearly as impressive as the whole thing that you can walk around and touch though.

Hint ...I guess it's worth noting that I hadn't heard of the "I Who" series of books when I started out on this venture either. So the question is rapidly becoming whether or not there's a market for it at all, especially from a relatively unknown writer. But that's a matter for another thread - I'm gonna go back to ogling that console prop.

Earl, not sure what I Who is to be honest, but I wouldn't give up hop on your project, I bet you could find a way to make it work despite similar projects out there. Never underestimate the power of a fanzine.
