Debuting this Christmas:



It's like they're rebooting with the same Doctor.

Cool! But what a tease...

Can't wait to see the rest of the interior.

Very intrigued! It'd be cool if they went for more of a futuristic (and therefore Classic) look versus the "junk strewn around" look of the console since the series returned. I have problem with that look, btw, I just think it might be interesting to go a different route this time.

Yup. I've never liked the junked out, cobbled together look.

And I agree with the general sentiment about the Console Room. I liked the overall layout of it (The multi-tiered set up with stair ways), but the Console itself was so jarring by comparison. It'd be nice if the TARDIS got a bit of her classic "shine" back.

I wonder if that's the TARDIS from The Lodger... we never got a solid answer as to where it came from.

It was a Silent Ship, right?

Now this is exciting, if it is a new console room i'll be glad to see the junk disappear for good!!!

I'm guessing they're getting the TARDIS to look its prettiest for the 50th.

I think the Gallifreyan symbols around are cool, and might possibly be a reminder that the TARDIS is one of the last surviving relics of Gallifrey.

Was it? Why did it react to the Doctor, a Timelord, as being the right pilot?

We saw it again during Day of the Moon, so either it was a repurposed set or it had some connection to the Silent.

My current fan theory is it was the TARDIS the Silence were using to transport River through space and time. Possibly constructed deliberately, and possibly a relic they had discovered.

Looks like it could be pretty cool!

And this is a good reason to get a new set in 3 3/4 scale!!

So, does this mean we'll finally, after 23 years, have a TARDIS inside that does not look like ass?

So far, I prefer the current console.

Well if it's a full new console room, I doubt they'd spend all that money remaking it only for it to be in one episode as "another room". At least in The Doctor's Wife they already had the 9th/10th Doctor's console room that they could just reuse.

The official BBC description of the picture says it "will be home to the Doctor and Clara as they travel through space and time when the adventure continues in spring 2013 with eight epic episodes."

New companion, new wardrobe for the Doctor, new Cybermen, new TARDIS console design. 2013 will have some changes.

If only there were a new head writer.

Maybe now that River's story is pretty much told, Moffat will shape up.

I mean it could be a non-console room & still get used more than once. Putting money into a new set could be the incentive the writers need to heavily feature the TARDIS's other rooms.
I don't like that it looks like a stack of Stargates with Gallifreyan decals.

Maybe it's Clara/Oswin's Dalek body storage room.

I definitely perfer steampunk to cheap decals. Maybe if if they were engraved symbols it'd be a different story. I'm not wild about the gray material either.
