| i'll weigh in on fear her as my least fave from the new series. i find with the classic series as with all doctor who is am i judgeing now as an adult or as a child. so my childhood side wants to say all of mcoy because even when i was young i knew the stories werent particullarly good. but i have to agree with the web planet as well. ive often wondered if the redid that story now with modern special effects and story tweaking if that might not be a great story. much like time flight they tried to do somthing that the effects and costume budget just couldnt pull of. |

| Old Series:
"Time Flight" Someone else mentioned this one and I whole heartedly agree. That episode has almost ZERO entertainment factor for me. It's just boring and annoying as hell and the story sucks.
"Delta and the Bannermen" WOOF!
New Series:
"Love and Monsters" The idea of having an episode where the Doctor takes a back seat to his companion would be sometimes acceptable, but taking a back seat to a bunch of silly people we never met before is a bad idea. I've watched this episode twice. I will probably never watch it again.
"Blink" was only saved by being a pretty good story with cool aliens. That made it a compelling show, but I still think it fails as a Doctor Who episode.
Oh and on "The Web Planet." Its hard to argue that the whole thing is a goofy mess. But I have to give respect to the production staff on that story. Unlike a lot of Who episodes that take place in warehouse corridors or quarries, they built everything on that episode from the ground up. It was hella ambitious and there are shots of it that look surreal and fantastic, especially for the time it was done. Maybe that's why I can still watch this story and enjoy it on some level. |

| Love and Monsters was supposed to be one of those kitschy episodes that is so bizarre that it becomes a "fan favorite" or a cult classic.
Unfortunately, I don't think it caught on in the way it was intended.
It is a very atypical Doctor Who episode, and I think that was the intent. But just wait, in the future people will love it and say how inventive it was.
Just like that Seinfeld episode where everything goes backwards. |

| I've said it before and I'll say it again: I thought Love and Monsters and Blink were brilliant. In the early days of the series, it wasn't totally unusual to have episodes in which the Doctor appeared briefly if at all (even The Dalek Invasion of Earth had a Doctor-less chapter), so the ideas underlying these episodes intrigued the heck out of me. |

Oh come on!! It was pure genius! Can't be considered the worst when it was designed to be bad, that's what makes it good. The plot was written as a joke, the actors spoofed all the way, and it had chattery bottoms! Everything to make it awful. It did so well that it can only be viewed as a success on it's attempt. Chattery bottoms |

| You know another really bad episode and I did mention it before is Daleks in Manhattan...just saw it on WTTW last week and for all it's glamour and pizazz it was simply a clunker. Was it the bizzare american accents, the pigs, dalek sec? Does anyone like this episode...try to convince me? Or am I just old and cynical? |

The Empire's favorite bounty hunter is a new convert to Doctor Who fandom also.

| 1st Doctor: Web Planet, with dishonorable mention to the War Machines for Dodo's abrupt departure.
2nd Doctor: I'm going to have to say Underwater Menace.
3rd Doctor: Time Monster and the Mutants
4th Doctor: Creature from the Pit (eps. 2-4 ONLY, Ep. 1 is too funny to say anything bad about), Meglos
5th Doctor: Kinda & Warriors of the Deep
6th Doctor: Revelation of the Daleks
7th Doctor: Delta & the Bannermen, Happiness Patrol (and quite a few others, but these are the worst); Dimensions in Time is bad as well.
8th Doctor: N/A
9th Doctor: Nothing horrible or completely unwatchable here, but some moments of mediocrity.
10th Doctor: Fear Her, Midnight, Idiot's Lantern, Love & Monsters all come up short in my mind.

| I've got to say "Fear Her" is the worst of the "new series" simply because it was the one episode where I could physically feel the quality of the show take a tailspin. Other episodes had their questionable moments, but it always felt like best effort was given...not in this case.
I got a similar feeling watching "Planet of the Dead"...but that was more due to disappointment after all the hype. Was there a reason for that show other than contractual obligations to do a special?
As for the "classic series"...I haven't seen enough of McCoy to base a true judgment on, but from what I have seen, I'd bet the worst would probably be one of his with Mel in it. Mind you, I haven't watched "The Twin Dilemma" in over twenty years, so I could be wrong. |

| Classic Series:
The Leisure Hive- Tom Baker seemed just as bored as I was.
Timeflight
Timelash- Cheap, tacky and laughably bad.
Paradise Towers- Everything in this story, from the incidental music to the annoying characters, was just awful.
Silver Nemesis
New Series:
Aliens of London- Farting aliens? Seriously?
Journey's End |

| I'm afraid you're wrong. Gunfighters has a catchy little tune. Fear Her is just 45 minutes of my life wasted finished off with the cringeworthy Olympic torch ending. I'm truly embarrassed that someone I know will watch Doctor Who someday and assume I must have a learning disability to enjoy it. Gunfighters isn't the pinnacle, but at least I don't hide under my blankets at night knowing that it even exists. |

| I have to agree. "The Ballad of the Last Chance Saloon" is the one good thing from the Gunfighters. Fear Her has nothing going for it at all. It's your last chance of earning Your gunfighter's fee The pay is in dollars But the bullets are free. |

| I do remember Fear Her being pretty darned bad, but right now I'd vote for The End of Time part 1. That could be because I'm still smarting from the latter, though.
I rather liked a lot of the classic serials you guys are mentioning, though -- Timelash was one of only two 6th Doctor serials I actually enjoyed. All of Trial of a Time Lord was pretty horrible, the awesome Vervoids notwithstanding. |

| I particularly hate episodes from the new series that don't feature the Doctor and co as the main characters; e.g, Love and Monsters...actually, I can't think of any others. I suppose I hate Love and Monsters then! It was really, really bad.
I must argue that Fear Her wasn't really the worst. I'd just say it dragged a little. But the main plot was good, just the bits in between.
