This is more curiosity than anything else, but anyone know why when they remade the Space 1999 figure line they neglected to create a John Koenig and Helena Russell? Those were pretty much the main two characters after all...

I remember reading that they did not want to do figures that were done in the original releases. That the new figures were just a continuation of the original line, not a new one.

And I'm sure they didn't give their permission either. I think they controlled more aspects of the show than we realize.

Definitely. Especially if you listen to Sylvia Anderson talk about them in the special feature.
