- I partially agree with you both. Personally, I loved the Trek 09 movie. Also, I appreciate the TNG movies. Obviously, some are better than others. Trek is both exploration and war. For every Corbomite Maneuver, there is a Balance of Terror. And there were plenty of action based Trek movies before Berman as well.
Each series had some great eps and some terrible ones. Yes, the Dominion War was a departure, but some of the most exciting stories in the history of Trek came out of that storyline.
Anyways, to each his own. Yes, but I want to see some more Corbomite Maneuver, Devil in the Dark, TMP (Yes, that one's my fav of the films), Encounter at Fairpoint (minus Sirtis' hammy acting in that one), Where No One Has gone Before, Where Silence Has Lease, Future Imperfect, Evolution, Identity Crisis, Schisms, Masks, etc on both small screen and big screen. If I want to see continuous battles and explosions, there's dozens of b-films from 30 years ago I can watch. |

| So, you want more of the intelligent Star Trek... and the original Robocrap. |

Intelligent Star Trek yes, and if the first robocop is crap....than why are so many folks praising the original and slamming the remake? Obviously, it apparent that the original Robocop, in both visuals and story, were fine enough for everyone, and a cult classic, and made 3 stars. Plus there' some intelligent stuff in the original Robocop, especially with it's down right attack on Western Consumerism, and just how low down corporations can be. |

| Having already had the Robocop conversation with you, I'll pass on commenting.
I agree roughly 65% with you on Star Trek. |

You do realize that at the time of the movie's release, it was meant to be an over-the-top parody of Reganomics, right? It's only because our own real world economic landscape has become so deregulated that life has begun to imitate art and Robocop went from over-the-top Sci-Fi action film to horrifying glimpse into a probable future. Same goes for The Running Man and reality TV. That's become plausible, when at the time of its release The Real World hadn't even been conceived of yet. But speaking of Remakes = Crap, what about the Evil Dead remake? Does the fact Sam Raimi is directing it and is still the driving creative force behind it mean it's going to bomb? Does the fact it's going more in the Army of Darkness route in terms of intentional humor? How about the fact the first trailer suggests Ash this time around is a woman? Or the upcoming "Son of Ernest" movie, that's being written and produced by the man who invented Ernest in the first place? |

| Sam Raimi isn't directing the new Evil Dead & there is no character named Ash in it. It could still be okay. Keep in mind that Ben-Hur starring Charlton Heston was a remake. |

Off-topic, but yeah, it's worth noting that the character isn't being 'replaced', they just don't exist in the remake. |

| for all of you who are touting the hollier than thou attitude about the sanctity of robo cop i will unfortunatelly remind you of the wcw wrestling pay per view where he showed up and ripped a cage door open to free sting and then scared off the entire four horsemen. i know you guys like spirited debate but c'mon just watch it or don't theres no reason to tear it down at least until its come out. just give it a fair shake imo. if it sucks so be it, but just wait till its out. lol |

Well, probably because the film was coming out, so might as well get some publicity, plus not that many people even remember it, I did not even know it happened until four years later. Oh trust me, I am not going to watch this. |

| Figma Robocop, my favorite figure of Robocop. http://www.infinitehollywood.com/figure-review-figma-robocop/ http://www.tomopop.com/tomopop-review-figma-robocop-23596.phtml The original Robocop design is a classic, and I see nothing wrong with it. Even the damned Cybusmen were pretty much a mix of Ironman and Robocop...though it don't look right on them. New "Rococop" is just probably something the morons making this movie found in an unused Batman art file. Plus now they are giving him a taser.......so if accurate to history, this guy's going to be tasering old ladies, pregnant women and teens at the first moment he shows up.....so we're probably going to see less Robocop and more judge dread, Chief Wigem, and a good chunk of infamous cops on the news. I can already picture the action figures collecting dust in the toy stores, already.

| To anyone saying that the original Robocop design is silly and rubbish, and "out dated", these folks at the Phoenix Comic Con sure would disagree here, since it seems everyone wanted to take or have a picture with him. https://youtu.be/r-QH_rk1Iv4 A good design never goes old. |

| It's not silly or outdated. It's iconic and badass, 25 years later. Of course, it was the first R-rated movie I ever watched, so I am kind of biased. |

| Yeah, get a load of some of those dweebs. Those little kids are thinking, "Cool, one of next year's Power Rangers!" Just kidding, of course. As much as I don't like the film, it is a cool, retro-80s design. |
