So, first part of Pond Life now released! What do you all think? I thought it was a great little start, but I'm hoping the rest will be longer and more Pond-centric

Funny how that's what it's called, but they were barely in it.
Really, It was more of the same silliness I've come to constantly anticipate from the series.

I concur. I wasn't very happy to only see a mere 2 seconds of Rory...

Yeah, I need more companion presence in this to be able to stomach 'goofy Doctor'.

I read somewhere that this part will be the pre-titles sequence in the edited together version for the red button on TV.

Strikes me Eleven is finally over the Survivor's Guilt of Nine and Ten and is doing everything his other incarnations would have scoffed at as stupid and immature - because who knows if/when he'll ever be able to do it again.
Well, maybe not Four. He seems to be the kind of Doctor that would raise a fuss over how pointless and goofy doing a rap song/album would be and then proceed to hassle the person that brought it up to show him to the studio.

Do you think 11 might also be thinking "Only two more regenerations left?" Maybe he's living it up because he's realizing he's near the end of the regeneration cycle?
I mean, that line in SJA about being able to regenerate over 500 more times could have been bull. "The Doctor always lies," after all...
At any rate, it's fun seeing the Doctor do stuff in time and space rather than just being a solemn fellow.

Eh. I'm not worried about the "Two Lives Left" (Possibly one thanks to RTD and the stupid "Regeneration Fakeout" in Journey's End). Not only is that a rule they're going to circumvent when the time comes, but there's also the Time War to consider.
The Time Lords were so desperate for manpower, they resurrected the Master from the Eye of Harmony and gave him brand new Regenerations. Indeed, that was the whole point in his involvement in The Five Doctors - the Time Lords promised him a brand new set of Regenerations.
Strikes me one of the first acts of the Time War had to be Rassilion lifting the Rule of 13. And then there's River Song giving up her remaining regenerations to save the Doctor's life. Who knows what that kind of regeneration energy might have done to the Doctor.

Lots of Matt Smith silliness and not much of the Ponds. Great to get all of these little jokes out of the way so they're not crammed into episodes. "Wouldn't it be funny if the Doctor ..." well stick it into Pond Life.
It looks like the point of this could be the Pond's reaction to the Doctor frequently annoying them. Setting the stage for them to finally leave.

Heh. That's the problem with the fourth dimension - stuff happens before it actually happens.

The best thing I can say is that at least this was the only one so far that actually deserved the title 'Pond Life'.

Any theories for how it got there? I read a great one on GB about how River was stealing a Callisto pulse and to deal with the security Ood she dropped him of at her parents for a while.
