It's not even close.

I think the tailoring is fantastic. The head sculpt is good.

I don't like the paint work on the eyes. But I have it on preorder.

That Pertwee figure really is a thing of beauty! I just wish they'd gone (or will go with) the dark red jacket with the purple/blue-lined opera-cloak. When I think of the Third Doctor, I always think of those "Claws of Axos" era promotional stills.

Still, I'm really excited to see how good the prototype looks and to see the figure progressing. They've done a fantastic job on the likeness. The clothes look quite good as well, especially the 'frog' braids on his cloak and jacket. Whatever happens, I hope the quality makes it through to the finish product.

I wonder what his accessories will be? I'm hoping for:
-Alternate color jacket(s) (A long shot I know, but maybe as a pre-order exclusive?)
-Sonic Screwdriver
-"Arrowhead"-style Tardis key necklace
-Metebelis III Blue Crystal
-The 'mirror' device that he used to hypnotize Aggedor
-Alternate Bow Ties/Cravats
-An Auton Sphere from "Spearhead form Space"

Then maybe:
-Some kind of gadget from one of his stories.
-Venusian Akido hands (among others)

Ah yes, I knew I was forgetting something! Great catch Whoozy! The dematerialization circuit would definitely be a must-have!

Rose Tyler arrived today!  I really love her.  

I gave her the TARDIS key to wear...


I didn't peel off the protective film, but still pretty cool light up base...

JUST the "Collector Edition" is 500.  It has an autographed Picture or something from Katy Manning.

There will be a regular edition too sold through the usual retail partners...if I read the release correctly.

...it will be available as a Signature Edition, signed by Tom Baker in a worldwide edition of only 500 pieces, and also a limited edition one available at a later date.

FYI, In case some of you hear hadn't heard, Big Chief is putting THE SIXTH DOCTOR up for pre-order later this month!  I don't know a specific date, but keep your eyes peeled at their facebook page.  

There are photos online, but I won't post them here as they are not mine to post.   I think he looks GREAT.  They've nailed the costume and the likeness is quite good.

He's got a nice selection of accessories.  Sadly there is no multi-colored umbrella, BUT you do get:
The "Tracker" gadget from "Attack of the Cybermen"
The Sonic Lance from "Attack of the Cybermen"
The "Time Distortion Tracer"  from "Mark of the Rani"
"4" magnetic cat badges (Pictures I've seen show a total of five, counting the one on the figure).

They also talk about the upcoming figure release schedule.  Doctors 5 and 7 are having some 'technical issues' with the costume, so it sounds like they might be rescheduled.  I have guesses as to why, but I'll leave the speculation out of this post.  They reiterated plans for a cyberman and a dalek. They also plan on re-releasing some Doctors as part of their 'definitive edition' line (like the Season 18 Tom).  BIG NEWS: They've confirmed that they will be producing 1/6 figures of K-9 and THE BRIGADIER!

I have preodered my Sixie. I am very impressed with how they were able to realize his coat and vest. No small feat!

Ok...so I bit the bullet...and bought McGann.

I was reading the reviews of him and everybody said how it was much better looking than the prototype.

I have to agree.  He's great!

He comes with a bunch of stuff, but I tricked mine out with the sonic and the TARDIS key.  His fob watch is tucked into his waistcoat pocket.


I'm very happy with him. Glad I got him...and just in time for the 25th anniversary of the TV Movie!

So, in case you hadn’t heard…

Big Chief Studios has gone into liquidation.
Anybody who had pre-order deposits with them has most likely lost their money.

Notification e-mails went out August 7th. If you’ve got pre-orders with the company and haven’t seen an e-mail this week, you might want to reach out to them or their liquidators, and/or whatever financial service providers you used to make your purchases… Just to see what kind of claims you can make.   The outlook sounds pretty doubtful, but maybe it’s still worth a try, especially given the expenses involved.

So…
No Delgado Master.
No Sixth Doctor.
No K-9.
No 1/6 Daleks.
No “Definitive” Fourth, Ninth, Tenth, or Twelfth Doctors.

…And none of the other stuff they had in the works for Doctor Who or anything else.

Poof.
Gone.

My sympathies to anybody else who lost out.
