really? no one said the clockwork men/women from the girl in the fireplace??? i'm really surprised moffat hasn't brought them back yet. i had heard a rumor before series 5 that they were coming back, but in a different disguise(they have to camo anywhere in time they go). it would be interesting to see them again, seeing as how scary they were in that one episode. hopefully he doesn't kill the mystery like he did with the weeping angels.

I've given this subject some thought recently and after what they did to the all-too-human Silurians and the awful new hump-backed, tiny-domed Skittles Daleks, I'd rather they not revisit any old monsters for fear they'd screw them up, too. I'd also rather, now, they'd leave the Cybus-Cybermen, too. At least they're big and nasty-looking. How about something new and cool instead?

I totally agree. I've no desire to see polka-dot Mechanoids or female Ice Warriors or Yeti with human faces so we can "see their emotion". New monsters only until someone competent runs the show.

Umm. Yeah. Because even the Weeping Angels lost their bite, in my opinion. They can only be really scary once. Like the Vashta Narada. Once we know their "trick" you know how to properly fight them. Also, look at the new monsters this past year. Prisoner Zero, giant invisible chicken, fish vampire thingys, space whale. All rubbish.

Well, sounds like they have no plans to re-invent Classic Monsters this year. I wouldn't completely distrust Moffat to properly re-invent one, as I did like the new Dalek design (aside from the hump, which even Mark Gatiss dislikes), but I haven't seen any of the Classic Silurian stories, so I won't say anything there...

The Silurians were so inconsistent in their appearance in the show before that the new look didn't both me much (much, note).

Inconsistent? In what way? They only appeared twice and they looked pretty consistent to me.

I consider the Sea Devils to be of the same race.

But either way, I do agree about the face.
