| Updating my thread with my last custom: Ice Lord figure. He is made from a Toby figure, and sort of follows a recipe someone here posted. Sorry, I forgot who it was! I need Alpha Centauri next! And a fun little display, the Ice Lord finds an ancient Earth Invader: |

| Updating my thread with some older customs! All of these were posted in the Show off your toys thread in May. Have a simple head swap first up. It is the 11 Doctor from the Apollo 23 novel. He maybe simple, but I am having fun with him on the moon! With the Lunar Module: And the rover:

| And my Adric: A Rose head, Lazlo body and lots of green stuff! With the 4th Doctor and K-9: The Police Box Measuring a Police Box PS: I forgot his Badge for Mathematical Excellence! I did find a piece of star confetti that I may use for the badge. Its a dull metal color, so it should look good.

| Forgot to add my Cybercontroller to my thread!! He is made form a deformed Earthshock Cyberman, who had a bent chest pack and scratched face. The putty fit under the chest pack to make the beer belly very well. Another view trying to show the recreated detail on the suit. "Hey, don't I know you?" "Yes, I am you from the future!" "Wow, put on a little weight, didn't we?" "AHHGG! That's it!" "Guards, Leader, take him back to the time ship!!" Only thing in works now is a TV Ace. Hope to have pictures up soon. |

| Great job on the Cyber Controller! The beer gut looks great. The paint you used matches nicely as well.

| Awesome, wonderful and drool-inducing customs RonPur!!! I especially like the CyberLeader (and Ice Lord and - well, all of them!), nice seamless work there! And I never can remember as I get you and Rdks mixed up at times - or perhaps it's all three of us - that are CyberGeeks (i.e. we all have a love for the Cybermen)? Was going to ask if either of you (or anyone else for that matter) has tried making a Stealth Cybie? I was sure that would be one of this year's SDCC offerings and tried making my own when it was revealed it wasn't. I thought it'd be a simple paint job (though I did sculpt down the moon boots).
But the black paint just sapped too much of the detail (which is how my Cyber Controller was born - went ahead and painted him back to silver, added his "spare tire(s)" and snipped off his handlebars (that hurt!) and finally crowned it with a model magic brain case!). :-) So I'm wondering if you guys have tried the all black Cybie and/or if you had any better luck or perhaps recommendations on the best type of paint to use for customs.
Someone on another board once told me my customs were nice but would be way better if I simply used better quality paints - and I have to admit I never really considered any paints other than what I get at my local craft store. What silver did you use for your Controller? And did it take a long time to dry (I hate getting silver fingers from picking up a custom - or worse, have silver "bleed over" on another figure that shouldn't have any silver!). As mentioned above the paint job looks nearly factory issue whereas mine just gloops around and destroys details, never seems to completely dry and just looks a bit off from the factory job's color/hue. (and that's even taking care not to put it on too heavy a coat even!). :-)
So any tips on paints greatly appreciated (from anyone of course - I think we! |

| Yep, I am a Cyber geek too!
I have been thinking of grabbing a couple more Earthshocks and doing a stealth. I was thinking of painting him dark panzer grey instead of black, just because black at scale is too black. Years ago, I did find a paint called scale black that was a very dark grey.
I found a Tamiya Acrylic chrome silver (X-11)that drys quickly and matches the figures perfectly. Besides that, I use Polly Scale paints, also acrylics and they always look great, nice and smooth.
I still need to change boots on the Earthshock, have been too scared to try that! |

| I am getting a bit afraid to make customs these days. Now, with the Master, S18 Tom and now, Revenge Cyberleader, 3 of my favorite customs are now figures. And if the rumors I hear about December are true, a fourth will be released!! So, I think I will just star doing variations now. Those of you familiar with The Sea Devils, will know that Stuart Fell played one of the more energetic Sea Devils. And also the shortest. He also doubled for Jo Grant and played Alpha Centauri. So, here he is, a shorter Sea Devil. He lost a 1/2 inch in height. And here he is, doing his back flip, while the other dead Sea Devil, just lies down. And 2 variations in my Master family. After making a decent Delgado,(with a Picard head) and finding out he was to be released, I took my custom, used his head on a Timelord body, to make a Gallifrey Master, I assume him to be before he fled Gallifrey. And, with the body, I put a Jacobi Master head on it, so we have the Jacobi Master before he used the Arch to make himself human. |

| Great stuff, Ronpur! What a great idea adjusting the Sea Devils height. I've got 4 of them and they all look exactly the same, and it's always bothered me a bit. Changing the heights makes a huge difference!
Thanks for another great idea! |

| I forgot to point out, and it is very subtle, I dry-brushed him with a bit of green, to make him a little different. FYI, I took 1/8 " from between his knees and ankles, and 1/8" from his waist. He no longer swivels there, but oh well....he does back flips! In fact, Hoosier suggest I should put a spring in him to do back flips! |
