It does seem like he's softening up on his long held position of not coming back.

Maybe he wishes he would have stayed longer now.....still, you never know!

Don't count on it.

There was a lot of bad blood between him and certain members of the production/directorial staff (who have also since moved on, but still), and he's made plenty of statements before about "not returning to the well", so I wouldn't believe any such rumours.

If he were to feature, I'm sure it would be as archive clips, not newly-shot footage.

From all I've read, I think he was genuinely interested in doing (at least initially) a second year, but the falling-out over the way that the crew had been treated had taken too much of a toll.
