Just got one of these in and I am a bit disappointed, the book itself is a smooth bound edition. I got the impression from the prerelease pictures it might have been textured.
Thought I would share with anyone who was not sure.

140 lined pages. It is a journal for you to keep entries in. I dont plan on keeping mine.

I still quite like the idea of it though, mostly for the design more than anything.

But, could you cut thin strips of cardboard and glue them on top of the imprint to made it 3D? then repaint it. Sort of like using the print as a template.
