I just thought I would take a part of this quiet Friday night at work and introduce my self a bit. Well I started watching Doctor Who in June 1976at the tender young age of 13 when KCET 28 Los Angeles started the Jon Pertwee episodes and have watched pretty much ever since that time.

Started collecting the TARGET books back in 1979 and naturaly moved into collecting the series on VHS in 1981. Well that grew into collecting photos graphs and and Doctor Who Weekly / Monthly / Magaizine which led to me collecting all of the BBC and CBS FOX VHS releases in both PAL and NTSC format. Naturaly I progressed into getting all of the Big Finish Audios until it became to expensive to keep up with them around 2006 or so, I was also importing the DVD and Blue Ray releases ofs the series on R2 or R4 or region code B.

I had looked at the action figures when they first came out and passed on them as the early ones seemed (at the time to look rather cheap to me). Well last fall I saw how the line had grown and as they were classic figures and they look really good so I jumped in heart and sould and went broke for the next two years no doubt playing catch up from places from England to Australia to get what I missed.

I came to the conclusion that it is cheaper to stay current (or as current as you can) I find it hard to do so when we get so many classic sets all in a months time.

Yes it was back when you had no fan magazines and the only way you know what was coming next was if the TV Guide or the Los Angeles Times TV magaazine had a small description in the news paper.

I still l remember the home recorded video tapes from the time life televison distribution era when they were first run and get that nostaligic feeling when I see the 1970's logo from KCET, WTTV and WNED. Ah the old days before it became mainstream in the 1980's.

And no I dont have a color video of The Mind of Evil chained up in the basement either Very Happy

I guess I went main stream in 1983 when I purchased a multi standard VHS machine in 1983 and had one of my friends record the series off air BBC1 from The Five Doctors threw to the last episode of Survival.

How time has flown by
