FANTASTIC! It certainly looked to me like it might be that way, so I'm glad you've said that! I'm excited for next week! |

| SJA, put it in a spoiler or PM me, but I need to know..
Do the Daleks kill anyone in the episode? I think the episode needs atleast ten Dalek-related human deaths. |

| They better kill people. That's the problem with Daleks lately, their threats are very empty. In Clara's words (and thus Moffat's own words, too) "Threats don't work unless you deliver." The Daleks still shout "exterminate" but have they ever actually killed anyone on screen during Moffat's era? The Doctor got shot in 'The Big Bang' but came back to life, so that doesn't count. |

| They killed quite a few in Victory of the Daleks. A lot of German pilots and wasn't there a guard in Churchill's bunker? |

| That's nothing. They need to have a death count like in Resurrection of the Daleks. |

| After thinking of it, I am pretty sure they wiped out a good deal of the populations of Gallifrey and Trenzalore. |

I wish we'd have seen some of that on screen, otherwise it just feels a bit empty and meaningless. |

| I'm looking forward to seeing Capaldi's take on the enmity between the Doctor and the Daleks. Honestly, I wasn't impressed with Tennant or Smith's interactions with them, though I still feel Asylum of the Daleks is the best Dalek story we've had since Dalek.
Coincidentally, Eccelston is the last actor in the role of the Doctor I felt gave the Daleks the credible menace they deserve, simply by his reactions to the things. Tennant and Smith seemed to just take them in stride...Eccelston managed a look of abject horror and revulsion when they popped up. Though I suppose to be fair to Tennant, they were becoming depressingly familiar sights when he took over, and Smith dealt with them in dribs and drabs prior to Asylum...unless you count Victory, which I view less as a stand alone adventure and more the franchise writing staff creating a "out" which allowed them to use the Daleks without having to constantly find ways to keep bringing them back from the brink of extinction. |

| Fantastic Voyage always one of my favorite movies. So of course, I liked this. Even down to the anti-bodies attacking. Rusty should be a companion! |

| I liked the fact that the scenes where the daleks were attacking and exterminating they had a classic feel to them... with the seek locate exterminate chant, the way they were invading, all lined up and marching through killing as they go... even the voices sounded movie'ish big, loud and mechanic.
The Doctor was pretty heartless in this episode. When the one guy damaged the dalek and the antibodies killed him the doctor says "he was dead already, i was saving us" and then when they end up in the daleks protein tank and the doctor says that the dead guy is the top layer if anyone wants to say something in respect.... just mean... i love it |

The story was a bit poor though! My feelings exactly. Loving Capaldi and Clara... but wish they could get some good stories. Don't think its gonna happen next time. Robin Hood. sigh. |

| Rather enjoyed this episode. Best Dalek story since "Dalek" (Well, and maybe "Parting of the Ways") hands down. Sure, the plot shoestring, but that tends to be the problem with some of the classic Dalek stories, too overthought. It many ways, "Into the Dalek" is the spiritual continuation of themes from "Dalek."
Capaldi's first proper outing as the Doctor is quite good. Dark and brooding and utterly heartless, a return to The First Doctor in many ways. The little callback to "The Daleks" was quite well played, as was the scene between Rusty and Twelve. "Do something good and name it after me." "I'll do something amazing!" was also a brilliant, devastating exchange. Clara continues to get some character and I was happy that Journey Blue asked to join up. Also, I really like Danny Pink so far, can't wait for me.
I'm wondering if BBCA chopped the episode, we never see the Doctor & Co. regain full height. Did anyone catch the Easter Egg that Bleeding Cool and others talked about? I didn't see where it would happen and can't figure out if it's a real thing that was cut after the work print or a hoax. (Or cut out of BBCA.) |
