| People seem to have trouble figuring out how to add pictures to posts on the forums, so I thought I'd do a quick run-through.
First, you need to do a FULL REPLY. You must click on the reply button on the bottom of a page (Sonic Screwdriver button), not just use the quick reply form at the bottom of a thread (I think this is the problem most people have).
From here, click on the "HOST AN IMAGE" button above the form. A new window should pop up for www.servimg.com. Here you will need to follow the instructions for registering (you should be able to use your WhoNA forum login info).
You should then be able to choose an image to upload and choose a size. 800px will be about the same width as the forum. This will only shrink pictures, so don't worry about anything that is already small enough to fit on the page getting blown up.
After the image uploads, you'll see the image and a bunch of text boxes. We want BBcode.
Thumbnail will put a small picture in your post that links to the full size version (use this if you really want to show detail and go bigger than 800px). Image will just stick the image in your post.
Cut and paste the text from the appropriate box and paste it into your message. This is where the image will appear.
You can close the servimg window now or upload another image.
That's it!
If you still have questions, post them below and I or some of your fellow forum members can help you out.

| Avatars are done from your Profile.
A quick note about pics that CJ hinted at. Thumbnails are a great thing as they are small and allow the users to quickly go through a series of posts to find what they want. Thumbnails allow you to click on them if you want to see the larger image.
The drawback to posting full sized pics is it fills the screen and takes forever to load when all you want to do is to scroll down to find a specific post. If the user has no interest in seeing those pics, they are still burdened by their computer trying to download for display.

Smithy (me). I upload mine to photobucket. They have a group of links next to each picture after you upload it. Copy the one with the "IMG" code and then paste it into the body of your post. By doing that, you do not even have to click on the "Image" button here. Your picture should show up when you preview it. Then, if it is too big, you can go back to photobucket and adjust the size too. |

Then get one. It's easy, and I've had one for years. |

| I'm having problems with pasting my photos. Everything else goes according to the plan but when after copying the image from the site it won't paste them. Is this a common error? I haven't had this problem before. |

| Can you display screenshots with step by step instructions on how to post images? Cause I don't seem to have the same set up. I have a reply to topic sub heading field at the bottom of my screen only and when i click it im given only 2 fields to work with. 1. Title heading field, and 2. Message body field. Neither of which provide me with an option beyond Text. |

| Winter, it's gotten pretty easy to host an image. 1. Select "Host an Image" 2. Drag and drop your image from your computer on to the "Drop your files here". 3. Scroll down in the dialogue box and "send the image to the selected category" 4. Now you can "insert the image in the editor" 5. It will appear as text in the editor, but once you Preview or Send the image will be there. 6. If the image is in the wrong spot then Edit your post and move that big long string of text. You'll have to deal with the big long string as the forum editor doesn't let the image actually appear in the editor. If you mess up the big, long text string then delete it all and go back the drag and drop window and click the "insert the image in the editor" button from step 4 again. 7. Repeat the process to add more images. Click on the host thing to close the dialogue box once your done. Lots of the other image hosting I've used over the years uses the same idea whee you upload and they provide you with a big, long string of characters to paste into the editor so that your image is linked to your post. I know that some firewalls will block the formatting ribbon at the top of the Edit Post tool. If that isn't there you should still be able to host your image elsewhere and still copy in the link. At least I hope that still works.

| Just a heads up folks...
If you have posted pictures that were hosted by photobucket, they have probably disappeared from the forum.
I have found out personally that they no longer allow third party sharing unless you upgrade your account and pay for that ability.
You can post and host directly here without photobucket using the directions from CJ and Squishy in this thread.
