Derek directed some landmark stories in Doctor Who - The Tenth Planet, Evil of the Daleks, Spearhead from Space, amongst others. He also directed a couple Blakes 7 episodes as well.

Just read this on Doctor Who News. I was just reading about him today in the new Cyberman magazine. Thanks for your wonderful contributions to Doctor Who.
