Not sure about the accuracy of Bill Nighy and the 12th Doctor role. From what I read, he was offered it earlier and Peter was the ONLY actor considered. And the #1 pick with RTD suggesting CZJ as the first female Doctor: really didn't matter what he suggested, Moffat was making the choice then.

But, actually, I think any of them would make great choices.

I think you might be right there, Ronpur. I'm sure I heard/read somewhere that Nighy was considered for the role of the 9th Doctor, but not the 12th. However, he was quite high on the list of the Bookies' favourites for the 12th Doctor, I think.
