Ah, that's a shame. Hopefully it'll go by quick. I tend to never think of the upcoming episode during the week so that it comes by faster. Wink

Not to hijack your thread, Scary, but I'd like to illuminate BBC America's idiocy for our British posters.

See, gang, even though BBCA made special arrangements to air new episodes the same date they air in Britain to better serve the large percentage of their viewers who watch "Doctor Who"...the idea is that they don't want to "waste" a new episode on the holiday weekend, when "no one" will be watching...so instead of new programming, this weekend BBCA will be running...A "DOCTOR WHO" MARATHON!! Thereby ensuring that the only people who might watch their blinkin' network this weekend...will be people interested in "Doctor Who"! You know, people who might be extremely interested in watching, oh, say, the very newest episode of "Doctor Who" available?!? Which, not incidentally, would be BBCA's primary Saturday night audience!

But because American TV orthodoxy says "don't run new programming over a holiday weekend," BBCA throws the ratings for the next three weekends out the window. Oh, television people are so stupid!

...er, anyway, carry on Scary. King regards to you, kid. king

The worst part about the delay is that while BBC America will be airing "The Almost People," the British folk will be a buzz about "A Good Man Goes To War," the mid season finale, which MAY BE WHEN WE FINALLY DISCOVER WHO RIVER SONG IS!!!

Yep, and while I might add that those of us who wish to remain spoiler free will have to tread lightly on the interwebs.

Starting next weekend, I will need to stop reading my usual Doctor Who websites for news and other updates (including, but not limited to WhoNA.com) for fear of stumbling across some revelation I didn't wish to know about yet.

I will be checking the toy thread though, with one eye open at least...

Thanks BBCA! You're awesome! I hope you took into consideration that a large portion of Americans have chosen to cut back traveling on holidays due to the high cost of fuels and have since elected to stay home and, most likely, watch TV.

King's Regards.

I must admit that if they seriously thought 'everyone' would be away over the holiday then they have a very narrow perception on life and probably think that their life style must be the same as everybody else's. Rolling Eyes

I'll make sure I spoiler tag everything I post regarding the next two episodes then.

It's what the ratings tell them. Historically shows on this weekend have very low ratings, that's why they don't show any first-run episodes.

Though I agree it's pretty lame. Especially when it's not on in Canada either and it's not even a holiday here!

I've never understood this reasoning. Especially as 2nd Doc Roberts says, they're running a bloomin' Doctor Who marathon anyway! What gives?

Hmm, if no one will be watching Doctor Who on said day... why are they showing Doctor Who at all?

Americans, eh? Razz

Voted average.

Was quite hard to follow, very complicated and the end was very weird. I didn't get any of it.

Lets hope the next episode is better...

The ending is like one of the crazy fan theories you see and dismiss as impossible right away. So disappointing.

Pretty much what Scary said, confusing, hard to follow, this is probably one of my least favourite two-parter ever.

However, I did enjoy the ending! Very interesting, can't wait for next weeks!

I thought it was a good solid follow up to last weeks episode. The only bit I really found confusing was which is the real/ganger Doctor etc, but it felt like I was meant to be confused by it and it fitted together nicely in the end. On the other hand im sure rewatching it couldnt hurt with the knowledge of which is the doctor

Sleep

Completely disappointing. Nice to hear Tom Baker's voice at the beginning but that was the best part of it for me. I'm really not sure what happened and I'm not inclined to watch it again to find out.

And what was that with the Cybermats? They feed off people's brainwaves? Since when?

I can't write anymore because I keep writing these profanity laced tirades against Moffat then erasing them. He's really taken all enjoyment out of watching Doctor Who for me.

I wonder how long Amy hasn't been Amy for? I'd say since Day of the Moon when she went missing with the Silence. Perhaps, as Thete said, they 'Gangerised' her?

Kind of an uninspired resolution all told. It kind of devolved into a fairly typical runaround. I thought it was decent enough, I just felt like the tension was lost and I can't imagine myself watching it over and over. The ending was interesting though. Overall pretty average though.
