| The proud owner of these suckers! The carded ones will be freed from their prisons soon. Finally just won VINCent in a lot! Also, I have to say the pop-up book is VERY cool. |

| I just watched this again yesterday. I still love it! Except for the weird 2001-esque ending! |

-Keith Well, it makes sense. Forbidden Planet was based on Shakespeare's The Tempest, and I recall reading that was the source inspiration for The Black Hole, too. I loved this movie as a kid, and I still do. It holds up very well. I had about half the figures back in the day, but they've long since been eBayed. |

| Disney Kubrick put out a nice set of Vincent and Old Bob figures. Max was released too, but oddly at a much smaller scale. This remains one of my top 5 movies of all time. Many fond memories. Still have the VHS and DVD. I was told by a Disney rep to contact Disney to request a bluray release of the film, so anyone want to help, please contact Disney and request away! I had all the figures, sold them all on eBay recently. Still have the Vincent and Cygnus models, I have an entire boxed set of trading cards still wrapped. The novel. The read along LP, the Album, and a sound effects album and a cardboard cut out book with the ships and characters. Also have the deluxe cd. |

| I have a Cygnus but really want one to build.
I sold quite a few of my Black Hole collectibles recently. I really like my cinefantastique issue that was devoted to the film. I also found an online copy of issue #4 of the comic so finally got to see "The Virlights" |

| I still have a little Vincent figure. At the time the movie came out, I had the models of Vincent and Cygnus. Vincent was great, with so many optional parts and features. Cygnus, on the other hand was a disappointment. I really wanted to light it up, but there was no way to drill out the entire ship to get the green house looking hull. It should have been modeled in clear plastic!
I also had a soundtrack and an album that had a condensed audio version of the movie. |

| I had that audio record too! Actually they had it at the local library on tape and I went nearly every day and listened to it. I was able to find it on youtube and downloaded it. |

I built the Cygnus model two years ago. Turned out nice. Sad thing though after all that time...I moved to a new place, it survived moving considering all it's spires etc. and I set the Cygnus safely in my new bedroom away from everything so I knew it would be safe. No. The mattress was moved into my bedroom and when placing it on the bed frames, the mattress went up and slammed down on the Cygnus, the exact place I placed it like that's where it was meant to be destroyed. It knocked all the antennas and spires off. I had to painstakingly glue broken rods together, broken spires, broken antennas. Only the tower is missing a couple rods after all was said and done. I cherished that ship. |

| I wish I had taken pictures of my Cygnus way back in the Summer of 1980. I painted all the things yellow and the cross beams black. I thought it looked great and took months to do. But now that I think of it, it sounds like it looked like a bumble bee! But it also got damaged and the spires also fell off. I threw it out much later. Now I wish I had it just for nostalgia. |

| This is the ULTIMATE Cygnus build! Very impressive. I wish the kit would be reissued.

| I don't like his description of the movie though. Sad what happened to the original ship being shattered by a forklift etc. I'm not sure that they still have the blueprints but would love to see them. |

| Good news:
In 2013 Spaihts began work on the story for the Black Hole remake by Walt Disney Studios.
Jon Spaihts is on Twitter and his bio includes the Black Hole remake. |

| I think I saw this movie at a little too young of an age, but it cemented my love of 'scary' sci fi movies. Alien series, etc. Made quite an impression on me, especially the music. And Maximillian is an amazing robot. Iconic, scary, etc. I think I heard that ReAction is making retro figures from this movie. |

| I'm not against it, but at the same time the original movie has withstood the test of time amazingly well, I'm not sure exactly why a remake is needed - or even desired. Unless Gravity tipped the balance and Walt Disney decided they wanted some of that sweet, sweet space drama money. |

| Honestly, they should remake Flight of the Navigator.
Beloved Childhood Film does not hold up at all viewed as an adult. |

Don't even go there. And all these damned rehashes, 99% of them time, they rehash things that don't WARRANT a rehash in the first place. How about making something.....you know....~gasps~....ORIGINAL?! ~dramatic chord~ |
