Actor John Barrowman has announced on Twitter that he will not be taking part in the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, due to air on November 23. Speaking on the social-networking site, he tweeted:

I will not be involved in the 50th Anniversary Episode of Dr WHO.

I just get the feeling it's going to be way more a Nu Who anniversary than for the entire series.

I'm not too bothered. If they brought Jack and the other RTD companions back for the 50th it'd be boring - we already saw them all reunite in Series 4, no need to see 'em again.

I'd have liked him back, but realistically it'd probably have just been a cameo anyway.

He and the RTD era supporting cast got a nice send off in Journey's End. Any return appearances might damage that send off.

I really would like to see Susan or Ian, and only them. Sure, there have been a lot of great characters over the years, but they are the only survivors from the first Tardis crew. Having them return 50 years later would be a perfect tribute to the entire series.

Well there's fan theories that the mysterious woman from The End of Time could be Susan. Who knows?
