It's Welsh, and trust me, it's pronounced Day-Poll. When they used to run a Doctor Who Exhibition, all the staff there pronounced it Day-Poll.

Thing is I'm a linguist so I'm too stuck in my way of trying to sound things out as they look. I'm always getting told off for pronouncing things wrong on here and on Youtube, like apparently I say 'Boba Fett' wrong. Razz

I'm looking for the Silurian (3rd Doc era), some Sontarans and as many, many, many Imperial Daleks as I can get. Cool

I'll go and have a look in the Dapol box later, sure I have some imperials kicking around.

I don't even know what it was... It smelt like the plastic was rotting on the inside. I brought him back in from the garden the other week (pics in the Kenner thread) but he started smelling againg after about an hour so I threw him back outside. Laughing

I'm looking for loose ones really, though I was pondering about getting carded versions of each figure since I do love that retro packaging.

I have the millenium set and I missed out on getting the display box for them, but they did come in the resealable clamshells.

A few things from Whoosier as a result of a trade! These actually arrived here last week.

Here we have a '60s grey & blue Dalek and another Imperial to add to what will hopefully be a nice little squad of white & gold Daleks.

(Not a great picture I'm afraid, at the time of taking this photo I couldn't find any better lighting. I'll try and get some better photos up tomorrow of my whole collection in one. Smile)

Thanks again, Whoosier! cheers

not so much a dead chip as no batteries installed. and when they are installed it sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles.

You can set the white balance on your camera to tungsten and the photos will come out better for you.

Oh, the batteries! Razz Any ideas where the battery compartment is? That's why I assumed the chip was dead because I couldn't see anywhere for any batteries to go.

You can pop the head off of him, actually the entire chest section sort of pops off, lift up gently from the front, I think they are the same style as the sonics use.

Forgot to mention, glad you got the stuff, looking forward to your parcel here.

Thanks Whoosier, just yanked his head off and you're right, they hid it very nicely! I'll shove some batteries in him in the morning.

Let me know when your parcel arrives, it should be with you any day now really. :0

The snow delayed the arrival of a set of figures that were being delivered via UPS until Monday but the mail arrived today.

A few overall shots of my whole collection. It's actually really small when I look at it but I've ordered another figure from eBay for a very nice price and have the intent to get some others, too.

Daleks:

Still a nice start to your collection, Scary. I only have ONE Dalek myself, because they can be so unreasonably expensive around here. Got virtually everything else, though, so I can deal with that gaping hole.

Thanks! Very Happy Yeah, the Daleks are really expensive on the English eBay site as well. There's one Dalek at £9.99 or something, the rest are £20+ No

Got this figure ages ago but thought I should post pictures; Ace!

Nice figure, the decals are very detailed considering when the figure was made and how small the decals are. Her face though is pretty daunting...
