| It is essential, it's just infuriating in an otherwise great story. |

Rory is in the pirate episode, and "The Doctor's Wife," so he's presumably not dead.
Well as you said yourself, time can be rewritten/unwritten. I sincerely hope that isn't the case though since that's exactly what happened to Rory last time. I hope Moffat has actually come up with a new plot this time... |

| I JUST THOUGHT!
River CAN'T die because she dies in Silence in the Library/Forrest of the Dead. HA! So it HAS to be Rory, oer perhaps the clone of the Doctor, since Amy is the one who shoots it seems.... Unless Amy gets shot... But then again we've seen her in filming for the rest of the series. Argh! So confusing! We'll just have to wait for this wibbley wobbley, timey wimey stuff to be sorted out next week! |

| Does any one want real spoilers, not just speculation? I saw the screener last week with the cast in NY and I'm bursting at the seams. No one I know who watches the show wants to hear about it, and I can respect that, but all I want to do is talk about it!!! |

| These are just for the first two eps!! MAJOR SPOILERS!!! SERIOUSLY!!! DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW!!! - Spoiler:
Matt Smith does die in the first few minutes. He's shot in the middle of regenerating. They (Amy, Rory, and River) burn his body on a boat. BUT that is the 1100+ year old Doctor. This story centers around the 900+ year old Doctor. However, Amy AND Rory get shot and dragged away in body bags. The only one that we don't ever think is dead is River, who rather than gets shot, nose dives off a sky scraper. (into the TARDIS) !!!!BUT the thing that I think is really important, and every single spoiler I've read has glazed over this is.... AMY SHOOTS A CHILD!!!! (at the end of the first ep) AND At the end of the second ep the child regenerates!!! THERE IS SO MUCH MORE!!! The Doctor plants a posthypnotic suggestion into the brains of EVERY human being to commit genocide. ALSO!!! AMY MAY OR MAY NOT BE PREGOS. It's brought up, it's dismissed, but the story kept coming back to it!
SHOCKING!!! What else do you want to know???? Do you want to know about River? How sad her relationship with the Doctor really is? Questions about the SILENCE and why they are creepier than the Angels when they were first introduced? Why is Rory once again insecure about his relationship with Amy? -- there's good reason this time. --- and it IS b/c of the Doctor.

| ALSO! - Spoiler:
When Rory got shot everyone at the screener pulled a rocky horror, screaming "OMG they killed RORY. YOU BASTARD!" Leave the guy alone. |

| WOW!Sounds immense. - Spoiler:
A lot of death!
What I really want to know is what the Astronaut has to do with it all? I quite like the look of the Spaceman and can't wait to see how his role in the story plays out!

| About the astronauts... - Spoiler:
Well... The Doctor is killed by an astronaut, but it has not been explained why yet. And the Silence has been around our whole existence leading up to space travel. They have been guiding us to get into space. I don't recall the exact reason why, but I assume it was to expand their own empire. Also, if you're familiar with the tape of the moon landing you'll recall there was a dropped moment in Neil Armstrong's famous first words, "That's one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind." They use the pause in his speech to implant the Doctor's message, turning all humans into a one species killing machine. Also, Rory breaks a scale model while saving the Doctor from NASA, then salutes... all while looking super Clark Kent-y.

| OK, I don't know any spoilers, this is just pure speculation.... What if the "Impossible Astronaut" is the Doctor himself? It sure would make the title make sense. |

| Interesting episode. Wasn't digging it too much in the beginning, but I was sure on my seat by the end. Wow, Star Trek mentioned in Doctor Who. Wow, Star Trek character actor, William Morgan Sheppard, in Doctor Who. I can't believe he's still alive. And, of course, Badger from Firefly (and Star Trek) This was quite the Sci-Fi mash-up. It's going to be a long week waiting for the next one. |

Loved this!! It's actually the only line in the episode I didn't like. It was an unnecessary callback. |

| Well that made for an interesting night. Sat down at 8 to watch it, with my 3 brothers and 2 friends, plus a bunch of our kids. By 8:30 everyone else had voted to change the channel. Coincidentally, these were the same brothers & friends who used to tell me to change the channel when Colin Baker's episodes first aired.
So I downloaded the episode and watched the rest alone. Not much to say. The regular Moffat stuff. Timey-whimey, yawny-wawny. Not much of a plot, monsters that just stand there and grimace at you, the same old tired River Song "Who am I" dialogue. Nice to see Rory and his 5 or 6 lines. I'll skip next week and rejoin the show episode 3, when Moffat's not writing.
The Lis Sladen tribute was nice. I enjoyed it and watched it twice. Great job considering how fast they put it together. |

| Very good start- looks darker this year...
Did anyone else choke up when the ending credits appear showing liz waving goodbye - I would have been a little mad if they did not give her a good nod. Of all the years of the show I only know of 2 memorial credits- liz and verity. |

| I thought this was probably the best season opener yet! I know, I know, some times it seems like Moffat's bag of tricks is a bit limited, but they do seem to work well. And it seems he's being more ambitious than ever this time.
I for one and definitely looking forward to seeing more!
The Elisabeth Sladen tribute on CBBC was really lovely. |

Barry Letts got one at the end of "Waters of Mars". And Jon Pertwee for the UK broadcast of the movie. But, I did miss Nicholas. Wish they had done both of them. |
