They open fire upon it. Then they go to a strip joint and start zapping everyone.

When it came to Gemini's birthday, he had Malcolm blow out the candles. Gemini didn't really get the point of birthdays, but it did mean extra Jelly Babies for him, so he developed a fondness for it. As for the others in the clans, they don't really care about birthdays, but will indulge some human traditions if they are present (like wearing party hats).

Still, one of the best Dalek stories ever. And never forget, it was this epic story that got Doctor Who the attention and ratings that have kept it around for 47 years. Otherwise, it my have been a footnote in sci-fi history, and we would never have seen it.
