Primeval - and the toys Empty
PostSubject: Primeval - and the toys   Primeval - and the toys EmptyThu Jun 17, 2010 1:38 am

I live in the US, naturally, and I was wondering if there was a way to get some of the "Primeval" toys? I'm looking mainly for Claudia Brown, Abby Maitland, Connor Temple, and Nick Cutter. I'd love the Deinonychus, but that might be asking a bit too much. Very Happy

I know that there is a seller on Ebay who has a bunch of the Primeval figures available for US buyers. But I have two problems with that.

1) they're from China and shipping takes forever
2) I have trouble believing that their are authentic due to the high quanity that they're being sold as.

Any help, pointers, directions?

I am afraid all of mine have come from ebay. I have only bought from UK sellers. Maybe someone on the forum can pick some up for you and ship them.

I've had to get all of mine from the UK. There isn't any other reliable option, unfortunately.

I figured as much from the UK, but I was wondering if any of you had trusted the China seller on Ebay. Out of curiosity, regardless of my own personal opinions, would any of you buy from China?

I've gotten tons of Primeval figures from China. Probably 3-4 complete sets in total. They're not bootlegs, they're real. Shipping time isn't bad, about 2 weeks.

I've never bought Primeval figures from China, but I've bought some of the harder-to-find DC Universe Classics from China, and have always had good luck doing so. None of the figures I've bought have turned out to be knock-offs, and as rdks said, the shipping is only around 2 weeks.

The only real downside is that, if you want loose figures (the cheapest option), loose figures from China don't often come with accessories. With the Primeval figures, those accessories are highly desirable, since they're usually creatures and gadgets, so read the descriptions carefully.

It would be nice to get the accessories, mainly the creatures, but it's not all that important to me at the moment. Thanks for your review on purchasing from China though!

okay, neat! I've looked for stores that sell them and was hoping that WhoNA would have them, but they don't. There's not a huge market for them and who knows what CO will do for the new series. I don't blame them for not making anything for series 3. Most of the prehistoric creatures I can get from companies that put out great prehistoric creatures anyways, for cheaper than buying them overseas too. :/

Neither of which are dinosaurs. Wink

And it's not a Pterygotus, its an inaccurate portrayl of the Agnurognathus. I'm still amused at the scorpion because again, it was wrong. Very Happy

Everyone kept telling me Primeval toys were on sale in Britain. When I went over last year all the had wasgirl with computer monitors and guy with giant scorpion but itty-bitty tail. I was hoping for something cool like the sabretooth tiger or velociraptor.

Yeah, they're not tiny though, they're the 5" figures made by Character Options.

And mini prehistoric nitpick... there is no such thing as a sabretooth tiger. It's a sabretooth cat, more specifically, a Smilodon. Wink

Right.

It's sabre-toothed cat along with dirk-toothed cats.

Most people are referring to the Smilodon when they say "sabretooth tiger". Smilodons don't have the correct facial structure for being part of the tiger species and unlike the tigers, they have bobtails.

Any book that deals with prehistory that calls ANY of the sabretoothed cats "sabretooth tigers" immediately gets ignored. It's not just a difference of opinion, it's just flat out wrong. :/

I feel like I am butting into the toy discussion but I wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were about Primeval series 4.
I just read they have wrapped filming and started filming series 5.
Thoughts on the new series?
