Thanks Seadevil. I sold of a diecast Lunar Rover last year for a ridiculous amount. And used that to buy 8 of the new Dragon Models Apollo kits. They are nice sized and depict a particular mission. They make prepainted versions too, but there is no fun in that!!

Also, I don't envy you dusting any shelves!! The stuff rotates to storage every so often. And the 1/72 Apollos are much smaller than the old stuff I sold. When I dust, I usually just hit the front row of stuff. on the figures. Air duster cans are used for the models.

I just received my JJ Enterprise. This kit does not have a light kit, so it will be back the old ways of coming up with my own lighting system. It is supposed to be 1/500th scale, but it is only 24 inches long. With the supposed length of this new ship, that is way too small. The scale may be closer to 1/1000th! But, I really didn't have room for another oversized ship anyway.

I think there might be a lighting kit out on the internet somewhere.

There was a guy setting one up on ebay, but rather expensive. And with lots of soldering...which my eyes don't like so much anymore. I think I will get the LED strips that just plug into jumpers and use those. Then, just a LED flasher for the running lights. I have to do a bit of research for the stobes. I am really hoping for an aftermarket decal set for the aztec panels on the surface of the ship. Right now, the kit is not easy to get in the US, so there isn't much out there yet. |

I heard they weren't in the model shops here for some reason, I hope it didn't set you back too much.

Some shops are importing it, but it was much cheaper to get it from ebay.uk and import it myself.....about $40 cheaper!

Here it is taped together for a fit check. Just to see how it goes together and what I need to drill for wiring. I never realized how tapered the engines are from such a big front. It looks a little weird.

That takes me back to 1980. I got the AMT Enterprise and put that puppy together with the lights and rubdown decals and flew it all over the house for the longest time.
