The Waters of Mars & The Ice Warriors

Ok, I've seen all the trailers for it, other than that pretty much spoiler-free, save for what is printed in DWM.

When the title was announced I thought of the Ice Warriors right away, as does ever Who fan at the slightest mention of Mars. DWM stated

So it wasn't the Ice Warriors. Ok, I can deal with that. Months past, the trailers came, interviews, etc. Nothing to do with Ice Warriors.

But there's too many coincidences for me to let it go!

1 - Mars
2 - Water (which on Mars would be Ice)
3 - RTD loves the Ice Warriors, and has said one of the specials would have Classic monsters. Yes, I'm aware he was referring to Sea Devils in Planet of the Dead, but when those plans changed new ones could have been made.
4 - The water-possessed guy in the trailer. His mouth looked like in Ice Warriors. If you put a helmet on him, he would look like one.
5 - In the latest trailer, Doc10 says the events happening are a fixed point that can't be changed. Could this be beginning of a second Ice Warrior civilization?

And my most important question. Am I just grasping at straws hoping one of my favourite Who monsters are showing up? will they at least get a mention???

DISCLAIMER - most of this theory was generated in the last few hours after I return from getting knee surgery and am on large amounts of pain medicine. Yipee!!

I'd love for it to happen but I don't think it will.

Hehe, would of had to have been set at a beach instead of Dubai so that there was water aswell as sand

i could(and hope) i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure that doc 10 has faced all the classic villains that he's ever going to face.
