S13 E03 Once, Upon Time

Now at the halfway mark and this story line makes even less sense now than Trial of a Timelord did at the halfway point! And Chibnall was on TV ripping it apart, he obviously learned nothing from the past.

I will give him a point for the last scene of the third episode, that was at least suspenseful.

I'm a couple days behind watching these. I understand they're trying to make this a
"mystery" but this is to much. I'm trying not to be negative but the only thing I like
on these is the production values.

Well, this week was at least a big step up from last week. Last week was the major misuse of the Sontarans. At least this week the Daleks were not offensive and the Cybermen were only slightly naff.

I'm fine with the whole "disjointed timestorm" thing going on. Wish they'd stop appropriating terms like timestorm from the classic series and trying to repurpose them to appeal to older fans. But at least we found out where Dan's girlfriend vanished to. A huge improvement from Spyfall Part 2 where major characters and plot points just went away once the Master was revealed.

The main villains are finally getting some explanation and were not nearly as irritating as the first two episodes. Unfortunately the fleshing out of their backstory ended up being "we love heck". Not the world's greatest motivation for a villain, but passable by marginal-Who standards. Not the "why don't you do something interesting" that the producer so smugly questioned the classic team all those years ago. Still a lot of time to bugger this story up.
