He was certainly one of the cornerstones of Doctor Who.

My first Doctor Who novelization was Day of the Daleks published by Pinnacle in the USA. I was just reading the chapter about him in the latest DWM special about Target books last night. This is such heartbreaking news. Before the late 1980's the way I experienced Doctor Who was through the Target novels once I had found them, and I really owe him a debt of gratitude for making it all come alive with his prose.

I just found out he passed on my birthday. It was a crap birthday and maybe that is why. Crying or Very sad
