| Great news from the Retro TV website news...
Chattanooga, Tenn. (May 28, 2014) – Luken Communications is proud to welcome classic episodes of the science-fiction series Doctor Who, a BBC production distributed by BBC Worldwide North America, to its lineup.
The deal was brokered by Chelsea Hassler, Manager, Scripted Sales, BBC Worldwide North America and Matthew Golden, Vice President of Production for Luken Communications.
The series follows the adventures of the Doctor, a time lord who faces a variety of foes while travelling through time and space in the TARDIS, his iconic blue police box. Retro TV will be showcasing the series’ classic run, featuring the first seven incarnations of the Doctor: William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, and Sylvester McCoy.
Matthew Golden, Luken’s Vice President of Production, said, “We couldn’t be more excited to make legendary classic episodes of Doctor Who available nationwide. The series is an institution, and we’re proud to give fans new and old the opportunity to experience this groundbreaking series from the very beginning.”
Now in its 51st year, Doctor Who holds the Guinness Book of World Records title as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world. Doctor Who has received an institutional Peabody ® Award for “evolving with technology and the times like nothing else in the known television universe”, was nominated for multiple BAFTAs, garnered awards from the Writer’s Guild of Great Britain and the Royal Television Society, and was recently named Entertainment Weekly’s #1 Best Cult TV Show Ever.
Doctor Who will make its Retro TV debut this summer.

| Got it locally as the last non-digital station in town. Unfortunately they've spent the last month broadcasting a "press any key" screensaver instead of real programming. I'm a little afraid the station may not come back on air for real just as they're supposed to start Doctor Who. |

Ron, are you in Tampa? If so, we get a channel called 8 Prime whose content is served by Retro TV. I can't verify for sure because the channel listings don't go up to Aug 4 yet. |

Looks like I was mistaken. 8 Prime USED to show Retro TV. The Retro TV schedule says it's coming to Tampa soon though. Here's hoping... |

Retro is one of the "free" channels or you get with just an antennae, no satellite or cable. I've yet to figure out why you don't get those same channels with a cable or satellite package too. |

I get it via TimeWarner Cable here in Louisville, so it can be had through cable providers. These kinds of classic tv stations are tied to a local station who "host" it...in my case, WBNA. It goes over the air, and it also has a spot in the cable lineup. |
