| Another site on Twitter are saying : Despite our previous assertions it seems evidence is gathering that Matt could indeed be leaving at Christmas. This would be a shame
I hope he isn't, I would like Matt to stay a bit longer.

| Haven't multiple sites pretty much confirmed Smith is signed on for Series Eight?
Rumors of Matt leaving have been popping up since The Eleventh Hour - I don't buy any of it. |

| What, is the BBC mad that they've generally spoiled that the 11th Doctor will survive the next three episodes? (The Series 7 finale, the 50th anniversary special, and the Christmas special.)
Anyway, no, Matt would likely have confirmed it by now. Remember when David Tennant announced he was leaving? We knew it was coming well ahead of time. A regeneration is something they just can't spring on us anymore. |

| Matt Smith has confirmed that he will continue to play the Eleventh Doctor in Series 8.
In an interview from Saturday’s edition of The Sun’s TV Magazine, Smith says: “I’m on a break for a couple of months while I’m in Detroit making How To Catch A Monster.”
“We come back and shoot the Christmas special over the summer, then we go on to the next series, which will either start filming at the end of this year or at the start of 2014.”
So there you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth! |

| Wigs perhaps. Also depends on how fast his hair grows. Considering they're done filming until later this year, he's got time. |

| I love Matt's Doctor but I'm ready for change. However, I wouldn't mind another series of him. I think it would be good for him if he made it his last, though. Best to leave before people get bored. |

| I'm ready for a change too.
I wonder though if a change will do the trick though. If they keep doing essentially the same 'goofy funny man' personality, there's no point.
If they carry out the plan to regenerate him at the end of the anniversary series, they really need to make him different.
Matt has shown he has the chops to do some serious acting, but they just keep doing the lightweight material. |

| I will definitely add Matt Smith to my "must see whatever he's in" list. He's so great, he makes a large number of his Doctor Who episodes look fairly average. |

Well, if Moffat still holds the reigns when Matt regenerates, and with Moffat's track record of non-originality, I'm afraid we can probably expect the funny goofy man everytime. Let's just hope and pray that Moffat isn't head-writer at the time. |

| Personally speaking, I'd love to keep Matt on for at least two more years.
Moffat I'd love to see be put in charge of Sherlock and someone who can devote his whole attention to Who put on Who. But not Gaitiss (sp?). I've been digging his episodes lately but with Moff I've learned just because they can write a good episode doesn't make them show runner material. |

| I want Toby Whithouse to take over. He knows how to do good, character-based drama with some supernatural twists. |
