One of the most interesting and unusual DW serials ever made. Its one you really have to pay close attention to in order to fully understand the fine intricacies of the story. Its also brilliantly directed and performed. The guest cast are all terrific and Janet Fielding shines as Tegan in probably her best performance in all of DW. The dream sequences in Tegan's mind, and her possession by the Mara, are quite nightmarish and eerie. The Mara snake as realized is kind of a letdown, but that doesn't take away from the overall production quality in my opinion.

A high water mark in DW and certainly one of the best Fifth Doctor adventures.
