| I just got Space: 1999 on Blu-Ray and I have to say it's awesome!!
But, I did not know that they included the first episode of Season 2 on it. The Metamorph. This fact is not on any of the packaging.
Thought I'd let everyone know. (Which they probably do.) |

| Here are my Konami miniatures. Would rather have two white eagles, but I am ok with the stripey version being part of the collection. |

| There was also a rare 'all white' Hawk that was released too. It's funny that the 'Rescue' Eagle was the most used for publicity for the series when it was aired. It only appeared in a handfull of first season episodes and briefly in 'Space Warp'. I honestly think Season One is more 'Anderson' to me but Ray Austin's direction and some of Wadsworth's killer funk incidental music did give strength to the action of season two. The interior of the Eagles in series 2 was ruined by removing the forward cage section, still there were some nice directed command module action when the ship caught fire. I'm also certain the three 44inch models suffered a lot of severe abuse in the second series as oppose to crude explosive cardboard cut outs used in the previous season. To me, the 2nd series was too funky while the 1st seemed calm, mysterious and correctly monotone towards lunar fashion.

| I actually like Season 2. I like the music and the costumes better than Season 1.
But they are radically different. If I want something serious I'd watch Season 1, but if I was in the mood for just action then Season 2. |

Season 1 was more serious, and I think many of the stories had more of a horror vibe than sci fi. I do prefer Season 2 for the new theme, costumes... and Maya |

| Yup... them listing season 2 as a blu ray threw a bunch of people for a loop. The msrp was set too low for it to be a blu release. I just don't see though how much money they are gonna make off of rereleasing the standard dvds. Most fans prolly already have the standard ones, and upgraded season 1 to blu by now. If people didn't have the dvds, just wait for the blus. |
