I need to get around to watching those at some point. I watched Firefly, Buffy, Drive (was mad when Fox pulled the plug on that one too), Dr Horrible... but not Castle. My mom is just the opposite- loves Castle, but has never seen him in anything else. Over the past couple of birthday's and Xmas', she's bought me the first two seasons of Castle so I can watch them. |

| "War Stories" Tidbits - Spoiler:
-
My fav River moment from the series, with the first big sign of just what they did to her and her capabilities. "No power in the 'verse can stop me"
I am always impressed at how good of shape Ron Glass is in. He put on a lot of mass since the days of Harris and Barney Miller. Damnn good for 56 years old when this aired. Some of the space shots and music cues are so reminiscent of new Galactica. Zoic did the effects for both series, and they even sneaked in Serenity into the pilot (you can see it amongst the ships passing by when Laura is meeting with her doctor). Injury Watch - Spoiler:
-
Mal and Wash tortured by Niska. Mal gets his ear sliced off. Jayne takes a bullet to his left side during the station assault. Zoe at some point during the assault takes a wound to her left arm.

My wife turned me on to Castle. Nathan's great in it. The cast has great chemistry and the writing is very good. |

I saw that episode as well, and they worked so well together in it. Baldwin's character reminded me a little bit of Jayne as well with the way he acted. |

Several of my friends got me turned on to Castle because they knew I was a writer and given the premise of the story thought I would enjoy it, which was an understatement. I couldn't agree more about the chemistry and writing, and what I love the most is the fact that they have such wonderful guests in the show a times like James Patterson, the late Stephen J. Cannell, and Dan Castellanetta. If you ever get the chance I highly recommend the Nikki Heat books that have been published. |

| My wife buys those and loves them.
She also picked up Firefly on DVD cuz she's obsessed with Nathan Fillian. I had a hard time getting in to it when I borrowed it from a friend, but I may give it another go now that she bought it. |

| "Trash" Tidbits - Spoiler:
-
First of the unaired episodes. What did we have to miss out on until the dvds? The return of Saffron A tragedy if we never got to see it. Simon and River finding out and confronting Jayne over the betrayal at Ariel. Shame they buried the awesome return of Saffron til the dvd. Love for Saffron Apparently, marrying marks has become a lifestyle for Saffron, but did Mal get it right in thinking that Durran was Saffron's real, or first, husband? She did want to conceal the robbery from him, and did not want to just knock him out and go... but why still care since later she lets fly with a lot of contempt for him keeping her cooped up in his estate like one of his collectibles?
You gotta love it when a plan comes together Injury Watch - Spoiler:
-
Jayne is shocked unconscious when trying to rewire the disposal system, then spinal damage when he hit the deck.

2nd of the 3 unaired episodes
Just think we would have missed out on Jayne's hat if we didn't get the dvds. Also, more war stories, and teases for Book's past.
Last episode of Firefly to be produced, with the cast and crew already knowing the series was cancelled. Ironic note that the episode ends with a funeral, and Joss has a cameo as one of the mourners.
Jonathan Woodward who plays Tracey also played Webster in BVTS- the psychology student turned vampire that Buffy meets in "Conversations with Dead People". Both characters initially seem trustworthy and likeable, but eventually become the antagonist.
Injury Watch - Spoiler:
-
Wash takes a bullet wound to the hand from Tracey

| "Heart of Gold" Tidbits - Spoiler:
-
3rd of the unaired episodes
Since this ep was unaired, Objects in Space had to be tweaked to provide another reason for Inara wanting to leave Serenity.
Inara is finally forced to confront her feelings for Mal.
Injury Watch - Spoiler:
-
Amazingly enough, the crew gets through the battle unscathed

| And finally, Serenity the film Tidbits - Spoiler:
-
The comic series "Serenity: Those Left Behind" bridges the 6 month gap between Objects in Space and the film, showing how Inara and Book parted company with the crew, and The Operative being assigned to pursue River.
There have been other comic stories for Firefly... all collected in Those Left Behind, Better Days and Other Stories, and Serenity- The Shepherd's Tale.
The comic series "Now I am wondering... was The Operative the only one that realized that River might have gained military and political secrets by viewing the logs? Always seemed that the only reason why they were pursuing River was to get back their best success of the project.
The continuous movement through the different ship areas during the opening was something they had always wanted to do but didn't get around to in the series, since they essentially built the entire ship as is, and not discrete sets.
Continuity problem- Mal's rationale for abandoning the guy to the Reavers was that the Mule won't run with 5 people. When the Mule was built by the production people, they put in 5 seats.
Another continuity issue- most sources place the time of the series as 2517 (although during this run through the series I never caught that being officially stated somewhere). According to The Operative's file, Mal was born in 2468... which would make him 49 years old if 2517 is supposed to be canon.
The full Fruity Oaty Bars commercial is an easter egg on the dvd and blu ray. On the blu ray, go to Extended Scenes, scroll down to the last scene shown, then go down once more. A symbol will now appear. Hit Enter, and enjoy the whacky ad.
Unlike Out of Gas and Trash, Mal's scars reappear. During his vid talk with Inara, you can see the remnants from his injuries acquired during Firefly.
The patch on the right arm of Wash's flight suit is the mission patch for the Leonov US/ Russian mission to retrieve Discovery in the film 2010.
If Mal had just gone for the head shot at the training house, no more Operative.
Miranda was supposed to have been found at the end of the 2nd season of Firefly if the series had continued.
Book and Wash were killed because the actors could not commit to sequels. Joss apparently had plans on bringing them back somehow if a sequel was to be made.
The scene between the possibly dying Simon and River took a while to film, because Summer kept breaking down in tears due to Sean's performance.
Injury Watch (as if they needed to make up for being too easy on the crew during the series) - Spoiler:
-
Jayne is speared through his calf by a Reaver grapple. Jayne gets his butt kicked by River during the bar fight Mal and Inara trashed by The Operative at the training house. Jayne and Simon KO'd by River on Serenity Shepherd Book killed by The Operative's forces Wash killed by Reaver weapon fire Zoe sliced by a sword in the back by a Reaver Jayne takes a bullet in the shoulder from a Reaver Kaylee takes a spray of Reaver darts Simon shot in the stomach by a Reaver Mal run through with The Operative's sword

| My only complaint about the "Firefly" series was that the last three unaired episodes didn't seem to possess that "gunslinger" attitude of the previous episodes, something that I had grown quite fond of. It didn't have that rustic feeling whatsoever and seemed a bit awkward for the show.

~ I could have lived without The Message or Heart of Gold, but not Trash. Loved Saffron, and was glad they brought her back. |

| love the show, watched it all straight through a night and then and saw serinity when the theatre opened. lol. castle is very good too. allot the whedonverse writers are over there producing and writing the show. theres even a scene in a halloween episode where castle dresses up like mal and ends up going to a graveyard in the costume and makes a buffy referance when they find a dead vampire. |
