I really can't wait to see what they have planned. The wait until Autumn is agonizing but it certainly seems they are going to make up for it. Still, with as brutal a schedule as the show seems to have you wonder how they are going to do more than that many episode or specials or whatever in a big block without burning the cast and crew out.

“There will never be a better time to be a Doctor Who fan, I absolutely promise you that,” says showrunner Steven Moffat"

So he's leaving the show?

It's not that I want Amy to go, but I'm ready for a new companion.

I will miss the juggernaut of sheer awesome and epicosity named Rory Williams, though.

I can tolerate Rorey but the way they write him some times frustrates me. I mean they treat him like Harry Sullivan some times

I very much like Rory and Amy but I'm ready for a new companion too. And I'm a hugeRiver fan but think she deserves a rest too after next series.

I'm ready for new everything - new Doctor, new companions, new theme, new opening, new console room, and especially new showrunner. I think we've already seen the best this crew has to offer.

I'm really surprised they're going to keep doing Christmas specials. What made those episodes seem special to me was they were being aired when we hadn't had a new episode for 6 months and weren't going to see a new one for another 4 months. With the season airing in the fall the Christmas special will be almost in the middle of the season and will lose a lot of it's appeal with me. I'd prefer they did an Easter or spring special instead.

Then again I no longer watch episodes made by the current regime so my opinion is mostly irrelevant....

I've already heard that River will be back this series (don't know for how many episodes). UGH! Why can't we have returns that we actually want like:

Liz10 - I for one wouldn't mind a return to Starship UK and Liz10 to help out again.
Jenny - I mean, c'moooooooooooooooooooon.
The Dream Lord - Double, c'mooooooooooooooooooon.
Doc 10.5 - ok, this is just a story I wrote where 11 ends up in Pete's world and meets doc 10.5. Don't worry, you don't have to see Rose, she's bedridden because of her pregnancy Razz.

Any other suggestions of someone we'd rather see next series instead of River (It's getting old) Song?

Well, I like River. So what "we" want is not always so simple. Smile nThough I agree a little River goes a long way and I could do with a rest after an appearance next year.

I like River also and she is good continuity but like the Daleks I would say after the 50th aniversary its time to give her a rest for a while

I like River, too. Don't kill her off, I like it when she pops up now and then, much like I loved it when Jack returned to the screen every once in a while. But I agree, maybe a small rest from her will do some good. Alex is a very busy lady anyway, apparently. Wink

I hope we get Captain Jack for the 50th aniversary. They use him just right, not over using him and Torchwood. Its time for him to pop up in a new story

They will find a way to keep her around no doubt. But not every week or every story arc. They need to give her some time off so the other baddies can get some air time as well.
