It should be, "Where's Peepo?"

Me being me, I just have to say, "The Tin Woodman is NOT a robot!"

Tik-Tok, who is there, is, though. He's been argued to be literature's first sentient robot.

If we're using that logic, we could say the same about the daleks. They certainly aren't robots either.

True.

For the Tin Woodman, according to the books, he had accidents with his axe (because the Wicked Witch of the East cursed it), cutting off parts of his body, and he had them replaced with tin. (It's the same concept as "I've had this axe for fifty years! I've replaced the head twice and the handle four times, but it's the same axe!") So, he's actually live metal.

I could see the argument that the "Cybusmen" are more robotic than the Classic Cybermen, though.

When I was into collecting all types of figures at one time there was a brief period where I was going crazy for robots. BTW I love this poster. Smile

I see Tom Servo of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" is present, but I haven't spotted his buddy "Crow T. Robot". It seems odd the illustrator would include two versions of some 'bots, like the TV version of the "Lost in Space" robot as well as his "almost forgotten" movie deviation, two versions of the Cybermen, "classic" and new Cylons, even two models of Marvin, but failed to feature Servo's "brother".

Sincerely,

Bill

I know, Redfern. I was outraged! That, and the fact that most of those DW ones aren't robots completely ruined this picture for me!

Well, I can't fault them too hard for including the two iconic Whovian cyborgs. After all, if they were excluded, some of us would probably be asking, "I know they're technically not robots, but surely you could have included a Dalek and a Cyberman?" (The lesser of two wrongs I'd say.)

Sincerely,

Bill

What a great picture! I'm happy the artists got some Japanese robots in there as well. Here are some of my favorite Japanese robots; maybe they could be included in "Where's WALL-E pt. 2"!

Radiacar: the Hello Kitty-themed car that actually transforms into a Hello Kitty robot.

The Gekko Ki: retro-looking warrior robots (in the show, their design was explained by the fact that a high school girl designed them).
Robots! Gekkouki

K: cool 70s Japanese cop drama about a robot detective who helps humans solve robot-related crimes.
Robots! Robotk

Greenmax 4.8: Mascot for a line of low-flow, eco-friendly toilets.

Wow, Calixar, you must have grown up in the Bay Area, talking about 2T2! I remember the storyline where he was "sick" for a week and had to undergo repairs... they showed Captain Cosmic accompanying him on the back of a pickup truck en route to the "doctor"!

Yep, I watched Captain Cosmic when we lived in Rohnert Park. It hadn't started yet when we lived in Petaluma. That was where I got to know Ultraman.
I used to have the card with the code-key on the back.

i think its a fun poster, and i would love to hang it on my wall, i mean..... its got the bill and ted robots on it! lol. with fun things like this i just take em for what they are, i mean if you wanted to get crazy wth it you could argue that almost every transformer should be on there, but then it would just be a transformers poster. Very Happy
