I think the problem with that Serial was she very quickly became second fiddle to the Master., instead of him helping making her the definate bad guy, which is what the Writers intended.

I think it's more SM who's screwed up redesigns. I mean look at RTD:

-The Daleks
-The Cybermen
-The Macra
-Davros

All four were redesigned, but remained true to their roots. But under SM, the Silurians suffered a horrible redesign! I mean, they didn't even have third eyes!

To be completely fair, wasn't the Dalek redesign more a BBC thing in an effort to make Daleks more "Marketable"? Probably in the hopes of garnering favor with the Nation Estate so they weren't mandated to use them every friggen year.

That being said, I don't mind the Daleks getting some color, but the primary colors could be muted a bit.

Yeah, but they still should've at least resembled the Original Silurians more then they did. In my opinion, it was too radically a redesign for them. They were too....human.

The Doctor kept calling them "homo reptilia," but that name isn't sticking...

I like Earth Reptiles better, and I love the first design they were going to use...

I thought they looked cool at first, then they took off the masks...they look better in the masks.
