| Let us assume, by some miracle of copyright negotiation, a special Doctor Who/Star Trek TV movie was produced. How would you feel about a storyline that shows the Borg and Cybermen to be one and the same?
I think it would be really cool. Both characters function on basically the same premise: an emotionless race that augments itself to achieve perfection, and thinks everybody else should join them. The correlation wouldn't take anything away from either franchise, and would actually add some interesting layers to both characters of both shows. If done properly it could be a lot of fun! |

| As long as the Cybermen were shown to be the elder statesmen of the bunch it'd be pretty cool. They did come first, after all. |

Of course! It would add a great twist to the Star Trek world if the Federation's greatest enemy originated in Earth's own solar system. I remember, when I was young, thinking Cybermen must look like the Borg under their silver jumpsuits. The thought definitely made them scarier to me. |

| I dunno, the Cybermen display more individuality then the Borg do. I could see the Borg being an offshoot of the Cybermen race, but not necessarily one in the same.
Though, admittedly, it would be fun if a "Full Assimilation" resulted in the Borg recieving a Cybermen faceplate. |

| Hearing the Pandorica Cyberman say "You will be assimilated" felt very wrong somehow.
It would be interesting to see the two groups at odds. The Cybermen could arrive in the ST universe to reclaim this lost "Cyber-tribe," only to have the Borg attempt to "reconnect" the Cybermen to the hive-mind.
Picard and the Enterprise could enter into an uneasy alliance with the Cybermen to combat the Borg...but through the Cybermen they have reconnected, the Borg learn of the ultimate technology...and leave to assimilate the Doctor's TARDIS...and if you really want to go there...well, you know what's next. |

| I think this would be cool! It would also expose Who to a few (see what I did there ) new Americans who could possibly become life long fans? |

| I swear that ages back I saw Michael Piller on a QVC special hawking ST:TNG stuff (I bought a communicator badge that magnetically affixes to your shirt and bleeps when you tap it) and that he outrightly admitted that the Borg were directly influenced by both the Cybermen and the Daleks. I've tried many times to find a reference to this online, but just can't. Sometimes I wonder if I dreamed it. |
