| David Tennant will be playing Peter Vincent in the Fright Night remake!
He will be starring alongside Colin Ferrall, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Anton Yelchin.
Not sure how I feel about this. Fright Night is one of my favorite Halloween movies and I didn't think it needed a remake... now I have to go see it opening night. Hope they can balance the old school horror and comedy as well as the original did.
Apparently, his character is a cheesey Las Vegas Magician, not a washed up horror movie host (like Roddy McDowall's version of Vincent).

| yeah, just read this today. i've hated almost every remake that's come out (except for when a stranger calls, and rob zombies halloween). i will go see it now, but it may not be any good. i think colin ferrall can pull off the evil vampire, and david tennant is great, but without a good script and good director, the rest of the movie will sink. i think the remake of a nightmare on elm street proved that. |

| I accepted a while back that if it was remotely successful, its going to get remade. That's just the reality of the situation in hollywood these days. These studios have the rights, and they will take advantage.
As such, I always have a hope that a remake will have something new to say, and say it well. A short list of some of the remakes that have accomplished that to my satisfaction have been...
* House of Wax - 1953 * Invasion of the Body Snatchers - 1978 * John Carpenter's, the THING - 1982 * Scarface - 1983 * The Fly - 1986 * Little Shop of Horrors - 1986 * Cape Fear - 1991 * Body Snatchers - 1993 * Insomnia - 2002 * The Bourne Identity - 2002 * The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 2003 * Dawn of the Dead - 2004
I will take a wait-and-see approach as I do with most remakes, but from what I've read thus far about this new version of Fright Night, I'm confident it'll be worth it. |

| Cool beans. I don't think I've ever seen Fright Night but did adore Roddy McDowall. NOT a fan of Colin Ferrall though but will look forward to this version. Looks to be very good cast indeed with the addition of Toni. |

| When I was a kid my older sister had a friend that always told me I looked like Roddy McDowall. Then one day I realized that was the chimpanzee from the Planet of the Apes movies. So the next time he said, I told him he looked like Peter Mayhew. |

I like the originals of the fly and invasion of the body snatchers. Oh maybe I'll see how this plays out. This will be released world wide correct? |
