Last night, I popped my City of Death DVD into the player for the very first time. Imagine my horror when I realized that Disc I was a duplicate of Disc II: I had two copies of the special features, but not the actual serial! As it turns out, my experience is not an isolated incident (there are lots of copies just like mine in circulation), but there's no way to tell whether or not you've got a good copy until you play it. So here I am, gritting my teeth and preparing to order a second copy of a DVD for which I've already paid full retail price. At the price they charge for these DVDs, you'd think the manufacturer would have a more stringent quality control program.
This time I won't wait several months to actually watch the DVD.
