wonder whatever happened to the rest of the poor beastie. I'm sure there is some mega geek that knows what episode this dalek came from...I remember the pertwee episode with the dalek being thrown into a lake- same ep with the killer "root" snake thingie-planet of the daleks...er can't remember.

There was Planet of the Daleks that had one pushed into an ice lake.

Then there was Death to the Daleks with the "root snake thingie".

In 'Planet' the Daleks were in the grey black livery. In 'Death' they had a silver black livery.

There is a great dalek geek site that goes into almost fanboy-gasm detail of which daleks were in which stories.

There has been speculation on the Doctor Who Forum that it maybe a fn built copy, but no one knows for sure yet.

My guess is that it's part of a fan-built Dalek. I find it hard to believe that a Dalek used for filming on the show could be tossed in a pond like that without the story circulating among those mega-fans who know the details behind the shooting of every episode.

Of course, my mind still reels at the utter inanity of the BBC's old program-junking policy. I suppose chucking away a broken Dalek head wouldn't be any different than that.
