PostSubject: How do you swap arms with the new should joints?   How do you swap arms with the new should joints? EmptyMon Apr 06, 2015 12:01 pm

Does anyone have any advice on how to swap arms that are in the newer ball-and-joint configuration at the shoulder?

I'm wanting to use a Regenerated 5th Doctor figure as a base torso, the one where Davison is wearing the red Tom Baker vest with white shirt sleeves (I think it came in the Castrovalva set).

Anyway, I had planned on swapping the arms with another figure that had arms with the usual peg-into-the-shoulder-hole arrangement, either from a 10th Doctor figure or a Destiny Daleks 4th Doctor. But I've only just noticed that the Davison has this newer shoulder joint, where the arm can be rotated out 90 degrees.

Has anyone tried to put some "old" arms into a torso that has this "new" shoulder setup? If so, how did you do it?

thanks!!

Yes I've tried it and it doesn't work as the ball joint arms are rounded where as the old figures arms are on a sort of flat point so it can't be done. Hope it helps Smile

Did you figure out a work-around?
Like, could you sand or cut-down the rounded area to be similar to the old "flat point" you're describing?

I didn't do that. What I mean is the sort of edge on the tip doesn't match up with tHe curve on the new socket
