What an excellent idea! I've seen the recons of each of these two episodes but will wait on the poll. Once the DVDs arrive I'll make my my final vote (although I'm afraid I liked each story and Troughton so much it will be hard to budge from Fantastic to anything less).

This was a great episode. I only planned on watching part one, but got hooked and went through the whole thing in one sitting.

I was actually rather surprised at the end. I did not expect the twist of Giles Kent having been working with Salamander at the beginning. The secret research project with the "surviving" people seamed very James Bond like in it's concept to me.

But, this story will do nothing to dispel the image of Classic Doctor Who and the wobbly sets. The walls of Salamander's secret cave sure bounced a lot. And some of his underground office as well.

I think we may have gotten two of his best episodes in this haul. How amazing is that!

Amazing story. Gripping. I couldn't look away.

I've always enjoyed hearing the audio, but seeing it is even more dramatic, obviously.

Now even more one of my fave 2nd Doctor stories.
