So ... just thinking out loud here ... is Web of Fear #3 (or whichever one) actually still missing, or is it being held back out of spite? Or as retaliation against the personal attacks?
If so ... geez! I want to buy whoever found these episodes a beer, not kick them!!!!!!!! I think that level of spite is not the issue. If a single episode remains missing then it is probably genuinely missing. These finds are astonishing enough, but it would be too much to assume that every adventure is going to be returned complete. On the fans vs The Man issue... Ian Levine (amongst others) has been critical or at least frustrated at Mr Morris/BBC's silence on social media and Mr Morris has been harassed, even putting out a statement saying he had no Who at one point. Soooo there has been a problem partly exascerbated by the Beebs silence and the er, 'paramilitary' wing of the Whovians going all out to prove how many episodes have been recovered. To be fair to Ian Levine his most recent tweets have been largely concillatory. Remember, these guys have had months of being considered nutters, hoaxsters and fantasists. When the dust settles I think a section of the fandom will remain frustrated and angry, but I think this more to do with how the situation has been handled than the actions of any single individual. So yes, let's rejoice and enjoy these treasures. And speculate (happily) on what else might appear. |

Only kidding (sort of) :-)

| So I've been seeing leaked stories about the press release on pages that rapidly vanish ... they keep mentioning Enemy and Web. They also say iTunes download ... which is frustrating.
Does anyone have any idea if iTunes is region-locked? I mean, is there such a thing as a "UK only" itunes store?

| It depends, but I would think they would release it worldwide. In the age of Internet piracy, they would be stupid not to. |

| Think it's safe to saywe're getting Enemy Of The World (complete) and Web of Fear (still one episode missing), but the real question is... Will they admit to more having been found and if so, how many...?

| Other interesting thing is The Moonbase DVD. I find it odd that we've never seen any animation samples yet. We had samples for The Reign of Terror almost a year in advance, and samples from The Ice Warriors a few months before the release. So, is The Moonbase possibly complete as well? Or is it a cover for another episode, like Enemy being released instead? |

| Yes, iTunes is "region-locked" in the sense that specific countries have specific iTunes stores. (USA, UK, France, etc.) that deal with content specific to that region. If you switch regions, you can download content and it should be available if you switch back, though I can't guarantee that. As well, you are limited to a # of "region swaps" over the life of your latop's serial number and/or Apple ID. Back in the day when the Region 1 DW DVD releases weren't as frequent, I bought some Region 2 DVDs and swapped one of my computers over to a Region 2 player. But I was warned I could only do that 5 times before it would permanently lock into whatever was the 5th Region.
However, considering how well BBC America is doing in Doctor Who terms, it seems likely we'll be getting the episodes soon, if not today. |

Also, and again I'm not advocating anyone breaking the law, there are VPN-type services out there that can allow people to circumvent territorial blocks... its how some people in the UK can watch Netflix US (much better than Netflix UK) and likewise people in US/Canada to access BBC iPlayer etc etc. Not sure if any of them would work with iTunes though. Again though, worth stressing, doing this would be illegal. |

Again though, worth stressing, doing this would be illegal. The fact of the matter is we'd gladly pay for it in the USA!! This has the potential to be like the 2005 series all over again. |

| If the episodes are all from Season 5 then how have they been lost for 50 Years? Were they lost 5 years before transmission or is this really the 55th Anniversary of the show? Oh, Daily Mirror, you crack me up. |

| I've been seeing "11 episodes" circulating over the past hour or so. I wonder if maybe a random Season 4 episode snuck in there. Also, people did think Aneke Willis was going to be a part of the announcement, maybe they grabbed a snap of Polly to be prepared. |
