I prefer the Special Edition with the newer effects. I love the introduction of K9. But, the Doctor shrinking and entering the body is a bit silly. Can you imagine them ever doing that today?

A bit of a ho-hum story where the ambitions were greater than the execution.  The fully CSO-created sets were remarkable, but the rest of the SFX are...not.  Additionally, the Nucleus of the Swarm looks really cool, but it too, as a performance, is a letdown.

This serial is noteworthy for the introduction of K-9 and the return of the regular white console room.

...and that's about it.

Watch Fantastic Voyage instead.
