Love this one.  A lot.

This is one of those rare 6-parters that doesn't feel "padded"...its really well paced throughout.  Its also very well written as an ecological horror story where, as the Doctor describes it, "the plants eat the animals."  Its truly horrifying to watch the transformation from human to Krynoid.  The makeup effects are superb.

John Challis as Scorby and Sylvia Coleridge as Amelia Ducat stand out in a great guest cast, but its Tony Beckley as Harrison Chase who all but steals the show here.  He is sublimely cool, evil, and barking mad all at the same time.  Its an amazingly memorable performance who, in lesser hands, would have come off cartoonish.

This is the last story featuring UNIT until Battlefield nearly 14 years later.

This serial is eerie, creepy, and terribly exciting.  I highly recommend it.
