| What do those who saw the Christmas special "Voyage of the Damned" think of this story?
I thought it was a bit bleaker for a Christmas story, but it had my attention and was fun.
Tennant's Doctor seemed less manic then usual. Kylie's character really did not have a great deal to do. |

| 4 out of 5. The only disappointment was Max Capricorn. |

He was a bit anti-climatic. |

| I thought it was fantastic. Definitely rivals The Christmas Invasion as my favorite of the Christmas specials.
Mr. Copper's interpretation of Earth Christmas traditions was hilarious. |

| So when is the Astrid with Bannakaffalatta figure coming out? I also need about 2 or three Host figures with halo throwing action.
On another note, while I adore this show, I am really getting annoyed with each and every companion he's had lusting after him. Even Capt. Jack for heaven's sake! They even had to have his one-off companion fall for him. Knock it off guys!!!
I know Donna is a very unpopular choice in a new companion but at least she won't be trying to bonk him at any given moment. At least I hope she won't.
When Martha does some back, I hope she will have gotten over The Doctor and be more of an equal to him. She was a very strong character, even stronger than Rose IMO, but reduced to a groupie with a crush. Grr. |

To be fair The Doctor has also turned into a flirt. Almost a rival to Jack, just a bit more subdued. He was flirting with Astrid. |

| I posted this in the episode section too, but it pissed me off that he so willingly accepted Astrid and shot down Richard Bucket (somebody has to get this ref.) - even lying to him. I mean, sure 30 minutes after he invited her along with him, she died, but still.
I would love seeing a companion that didn't fit the mold for a little while. Take the old guy along for a ride, have him guard the TARDIS for a few episodes, drop him off on a beautiful island full of alien bikini babes. |

The Doctor did not even offer him a ride home. I guess he is just into younger blonds now. The Doctor did not even treat Martha very well, and she is a babe. Bucket might have made an interesting choice. Obviously he would not fit the mold as you mentioned. Hopefully Donna's return next season will not have her fall for the Doctor. I was not crazy about her first appearance, but she would be a bit more of a welcomed change. Just not as much a change as Bucket. Bucket could have been like Evelyn along side Colin's Doctor. A great pairing of personalities. |

| Quote from the episode...
Astrid - "You look good for a man who's 903 years old."
Doctor - "You should see me in the morning"
Astrid - "Ok"
And the way she said "OK" combined with her rather nervous look immediately afterward suggested to me that she wanted to take The Tardis for a spin in more ways than one. She may not have been in love with him but she was definitely FALLING in love with him. |

Doctor: I just want a mate. Donna: Well, you're not matin' with me Sunshine! |

| The Doctor's refusal of Mr. Copper struck me as odd (I originally typed 'ood') until I thought about his reaction to finding out he was wealthy. Of all the things that money could buy, all he wanted was a house. With a garden. I think the Doctor knew that he would be more content with that -- finally having a home to call his own, and to be able to enjoy his retirement -- than traveling through time and space. That and I don't think the Doctor was in any hurry for a new companion after losing Astrid, probably figured Mr. Copper had a better fate ahead of him if his association with the Doctor ended there. |
