While most of Doctor Who seems to have translated okay into German, those first to episode titles just don't do it for me:
1.FÜNF VOR ZWÖLF (Five to Twelve)
2.DER STERNENWAL (The Star Whale)
3.SIEG DER DALEKS (Victory of the Daleks)
4.ZEIT DER ENGEL ( Time of the Angels)
5.HERZ AUS STEIN (Heart of Stone)
6.DIE VAMPIRE VON VENEDIG (The Vampires of Venice )
7.AMYS ENTSCHEIDUNG (Amy's Decision)
8.HUNGRIGE ERDE (Hungry Earth)
9.KALTBLÜTIG (In Cold Blood)
10.VINCENT UND DER DOCTOR (Vincent and the Doctor)
11.DER UNTERMIETER (The Lodger)
12.DIE PANDORICA (The Pandorica)
13.DER GROSSE KNALL (The big bang)
"Five to Twelve"? Doesn't that lose all the fun double entendre of "The Eleventh Hour". Quite literally one hour left to save the world plus the intro of Doctor 11. The German makes it sound like there is only 5 minutes or possibly that it's very, very short notice. Or is this just a poor translation back into English?
"The Star Whale"? Isn't that just giving away the twist at the end? Was there no suitable German for the "Beast Below"?
Can any of our resident German language buffs provide a better title?
