Sheridan in the slammer.

I enjoyed this one much more than Chain of Command in ST TNG. I rem so many people thinking that one was such a riveting portrayal of prison and torture... and to me it was rather basic and the whole lights thing was just adapted from 1984.

This one to me does a better job, esp with the mind games.

Agreed. This episode is frightening, Chaim of Command was rather silly - though Patrick Stewart did a great job with it.

Deconstruction of Falling Stars

A close, then far reaching look at how B5 and the ISA will go down in history.

Is one of the biggie reasons I love B5. So many series never give you a look down the road to see what ends up happening later on. Decon and Sleeping in Light are terrific in that regard.

No Compromises

The year 2262 begins with the threat of assassination as Sheridan is about to take the ISA Oath of Office.

Everybody say howdy to Lochley!

No, I'm not mentioning Byron. Ick.

Once I get thru season 5, I need to re-do the novels again. Been a long while since I have read them.

All I can remember about the Psi Corps Trilogy is that Bester is actually related to Lyta, and Garibaldi actually held off once he tracked him down and Bester dies in prison.

But he does drive a stake into the ground where Bester was buried Razz

Definitely pick up the 3 trilogy series- Psi Corps, Centauri Prime, and Technomage

Learning Curve

An Anlashok trainee gets severely beaten when attempting to stop a crime, and must vindicate himself against his attackers.

And Garibaldi finally finds out the backstory as to why Sheridan picked Lochley, who was not in support of Sheridan's actions in the civil war, to command the station.

Strange Relations

I misremembered. Delenn finds out last ep, Garibaldi finds out this ep.

And Bester comes to B5 to put his 2 cents in on the telepath colony.

Day of the Dead

The Brakiri make arrangements to purchase a section of the station in order to celebrate a religious festival which occurs every two centuries: the Day of the Dead. On that night, the dead return...

If anyone had to come along and break up JMS's consecutive writing streak (56 episodes), Neil Gaiman is not a bad choice at all Razz

Easily my favorite episode of the first half of the season (not like there are many candidates- I only liked two others from that run: Long Night of Londo, and View From the Gallery).

And I love the surprise message for Sheridan at the end. That one came out of nowhere cheers

In the Kingdom of the Blind

Londo and GKar return to Centauri Prime, not knowing the Drakh have infiltrated the palace and have control of the regent.

Meanwhile, after learning the Vorlons were responsible for the development of telepaths on Earth, he throws a hissy fit and demands the ISA give them a planet to settle on.

What a loser.

A Tragedy of Telepaths

Or maybe it should be... A Tragedy of a Storyline.

Byron and the teeps seal off their area of the station as Bester arrives to deal with them.

While on Centauri Prime, Londo and GKar find NaToth alive and well, who has been imprisoned in the Palace dungeon since the occupation of Narn.

Sleeping in the Light.....Wow, it is over. I can't help but get choked up with the scene of the station being destroyed.

I must say, I am very grateful that this joint viewing of B5 happened. It is, without a doubt, one of the best TV Series of any genre ever made. So many characters that you really care about, and love. And their story is completed, and planned out, from beginning to end. It is a masterpiece of storytelling. But, during year 1, you could not have know that. I am always happy I gave it a chance back then.

I suppose I will watch the last few movies and Crusade now, but it is just not the same.

Farewell Sheridan, and thank you.

I rarely get emotional watching movies and shows... but that final scene always makes me cry. The station is just as much a character in the series as the actual cast members; it's also that sense of finality. All the people and events we got immersed in for 5 years, and now the story has finally come to an end.

I seriously doubt that Objects in Motion, Objects at Rest, and Sleeping in Light would have so much emotional impact if the series was just a regular plot driven episodic show, and with the low level of character development that typically goes hand in hand with it.

Phoenix Rising

Finally
, the end to the Byron/ teep colony arc.

As Bester and the bloodhound units press their advantage, the remaining teeps take over MedLab and hold the staff hostage.

Byron asked for what he got. He had some good ideas in theory, but was pretty naive as to how teeps and mundanes would react to them.

If he had kept his feelings in check and simply petitioned the ISA to find them a world to settle on, he probably would have gotten it. Even if it would take a while, I'm sure one of the member worlds would have offered them a place to stay until one was found. As Delenn told Sheridan and Garibaldi, what he wanted for his people and why made good sense. Byron would easily have had the support of Minbar, and quite likely Narn too.

But no. Instead of going through proper channels and asking nicely, he goes vindictive and decides to blackmail the ISA into giving him what he wants. And he is surprised that 1) it didn't work 2) the mundanes just got a heck of a lot more hostile towards the teeps and 3) Sheridan revokes their amnesty, the only thing that was shielding them from extradition by Psi Corps.

Duh.

To paraphrase The Joker:

"You are a dummy, Byron, and... I'm glad you're dead!"

Yeah. heck, given Narn's lack of Telepaths and G'Kar's interest in Lyta earlier in the run, Narn probably would have fallen all over itself to set up a temporary colony for Byron's teeps in the hope it could convince some if not all to resettle there permanently.
