Bytes from Mind War:

"And Psi Cops? What are you rated?"

"P12. Someone has to keep an eye on the rest."

"Yes, but who watches the watchmen?"
-----
"Sigma 957 is not a healthy place. Strange things happen there."
-----
"Let me pass on to you the one thing I have learned about this place. No one here is exactly what he appears. "
-----
"Only one in every thousand humans has telepathic abilities. Only one in every ten thousand telepaths has telekinetic abilities. And half of them are clinically insane."
-----
"We had our orders."

"Mister, I don't care if you had a personal message from God complete with stone tablets!"
-----
"Good ol Psi Corps. You guys never cease to amaze me. All the moral fiber of Jack the Ripper. What do you do in your space time? Juggle babies over a fire pit? Oops! There goes another calculated risk..."
-----
"Be seeing you, Commander."
-----
"There are things in the universe billions of years older than either of our races. They are vast, timeless, and if they are aware of us at all, it is as little more than ants. And we have as much chance of communicating with them as an ant has with us. We know. We've tried. And we have learned that we can either stay out from underfoot, or be stepped on.

They are a mystery. And I am both terrified and reassured to know that there are still wonders in the universe, that we have not yet explained everything. Whatever they are Ms Sakai, they walk near Sigma 957, and they must walk there alone."

"Love !?! What does love have to do with marriage?"
-----
"Love? Pah! Overrated! Look. These are my three wives: Pestilence, Famine, and Death. Do you think I married them for their personalities? Their personalities could shatter entire planets!"

"Ambassador, I have traveled far and seen much. And what I have seen tells me all sentient beings are best defined by their capacity and their need for love."

The one thing I always wonder for this ep, continuity wise...

Later in the series, they establish that you can't use someone else's link because they are DNA coded.

If that's the case, then Garibaldi shouldn't have been able to use Cutter's link to contact C and C.

I guess either they decided to add that feature to the link later, or there is a way for authorized personnel to use someone else's link in an emergency.

The episode so great, it's the title of the first season...

(can you tell this is my favorite ep of season 1?)

I think the thing that struck me most about Babylon 5 as a series was just how interconnected everything was from start to finish. Even the hiccup of TNT ousting Michael O'Hare didn't derail the narrative all that much, even if it was pretty overt when something was supposed to be part of the Sinclair narrative (Namely the wife traveling to Za'ha'dum).

Oh, and I saw something I definitely need to pick up next paycheck: Crusade: The Complete Series. At the very least, it's the least offensive of the B5 sequels. Plus it has Techno Mages.

Bytes from Signs and Portents

"Sleeping is not the problem. Waking up, that is the problem. I've always had a hard time getting up when it's dark outside."

"But in space, it's always dark outside."

"I know... I know."
-----
"I've been out of circulation. Spent the last few years doing some exploration out on the Rim."

"Find anything interesting?

"Yes."
-----
"Not long ago, something happened. I've been keeping it to myself, but the truth is, I need some help. Mostly, I need a friend."

"You got both."
-----
"You still haven't answered my question, Ambassador. What do you want?"

"What do I want? The Centauri stripped my world. I want justice."

"But what do you want?"

"To suck the marrow from their bones, and grind their skulls to powder."

"What do you want?"

"To tear down their cities. Blacken their sky. Sow their ground with salt. To completely, utterly erase them!"

"And then what?"

"... I don't know. As long as my homeworld's safety is guaranteed, I don't know that it matters."
-----
"You will forgive my aunt. Sometimes she takes her role as prophetess too seriously."

"Then you don't believe her vision?"

"She's been wrong before. On my first birthday, she said that someday I would be killed by shadows."
-----
"What is the purpose of your question, Mr... Morden, is it?"

"The question is its own purpose, Ambassador Delenn. What do you want?"

"I am informed that you have just seen Ambassador GKar. Are you asking each of us this question?"

"Perhaps. Does that invalidate the question?"

"No, but it makes me wonder... "

"Something wrong Ambassador?"

"Leave me. Get out. Now."
-----
"Ambassador, I was authorized to speak to you..."

"Yes, yes yes... look, what do you want?"

"That's what I was going to ask you! What do you want?"

"You are a very persistent young man."

"I have to be. I'm not allowed to leave here until you have answered my question. What do you want?"

"This is a silly conversation."

"Yes it is. What do you want?"

"To be left alone."

"Is that it? Is that really all, Ambassador?"

"All right. Fine. You really want to know what I want? You really want to know the truth? I want my people to reclaim their rightful place in the galaxy. I want to see the Centauri stretch forth their hand again and command the stars. I want a rebirth of glory. A renaissance of power! I want to stop running through my life like a man late for an appointment, afraid to look back or look forward. I want us to be what we used to be! I want... I want it all back! The way that it was!

Does that answer your question?"

"Yes. Yes it does."
-----
"I'm leaving shortly. I got what I came for. But, before I go- a gift, from friends you don't know you have."
-----
