| Episode IX has its issues, but it was still better than VII and VIII. They seemed to have too many different writers deciding to change course for each film. It may have been better to plan the final trilogy so they could build up to the climax rather than pull a new story from thin air for the final chapter.
IV + V + VI is still the best run of films. |

| ^ It's too bad we never got them together in the sequel trilogy. - squishy wrote:

IV + V + VI is still the best run of films. Disney should definitely have planned the trilogy well in advance. They tossed out Lucas' ST ideas, so they should have invested time in doing their own thing. They didn't, and unfortunately it shows. I haven't read the books in over 20 years, but I liked the ideas behind the Jedi Academy trilogy by Kevin J. Anderson. It would have made for a better story, I think. Though I would have aged-up everyone, so that Han & Leia's (and Luke's??) kid(s) would be in the early 20s age group as the "next generation" of heroes. On a separate thought. After watching through The Mandalorian, I have to wonder if the show runners for Doctor Who are taking notes. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to go back to half hour episodes, not necessarily with four half-hour parts to one story like in the old days, but with unifying elements that thread some episodes together, with some two-parters, and some later stories that tie back in to previous episodes. I just haven't cared for the last several years of DW, but thoroughly enjoyed The Mandalorian. It would be nice to be excited & interested in DW once again. |

| Bought myself a birthday present... the Sideshow Lords of the Sith Darth Maul figure from way back when he looks FABULOUS! This particular edition does come with a lightsaber hilt lit on both sides, one lit at ONE side, and a "broken in half" hilt lit on the one sise...so LOTS of lightsaber options. Also comes with binoculars. and, of course, he's got a great head sculpt... |

| I saw the Black series figure of him at Wal*Mart and still kick myself for not picking it up, as Maul is my favorite from the prequel trilogy. You have excellent taste in birthday gifts! |

| I don't have Sea Devil money, but I was able to snag this sweet piece of plastic last week at Wal*Mart. I prefer these to the updated ones, as I grew up with these. I want to get the Bespin Luke and the first series. As much as I want to tear him out of the packaging, I am keeping him in it, cuz he looks cool like that. |

| More Mando treasure...this time, the Disney Store's 15" talking Mandolorian figure!!! in addition to talking when you press the center chest button, he has buttons on either shoulder blade...the button on the right makes the blaster tip light up and makes the sound effect, and his left one lights up the flamethrower and makes a sound effect He's poseable at the head, shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle. VERY nice looking. |

| The Mandalorian is indeed very enjoyable but not exceptional. This illustrates how far Star Wars had fallen that people lost their minds over it. https://mattthecatania.wordpress.com/2021/06/19/has-everybody-already-seen-the-mandalorian/ |
