Well, if nothing else, we now know we're likely to receive Doctors 4&5 to completion... As long as Pertwee gets done then I will be very happy with these 3:)

I'd want 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 at least... sigh.

And if they keep the 2 a year rate, I will be 60 if they go for the entire series.

Sigh.

I believe they will put out more per year, the first set was to test the waters so to speak. Once season 19 sells as well or better then it will be around 4-5 a year. ( I believe is what they had previously stated...or maybe they said 3-4)

Time to switch gears from getting the DVDs from the UK and get in on the ground floor with the BLUs now.

I like how the article that whooz posted, states that Tom's first season Blu-ray was a huge success... Let's hear it for the Guy who's Idea to implement this Blu-ray boxset success... HEAR, HEAR, FOR HE IS A JOLLY GOOD FELLOW...

After Tom Baker getting all his villains on the cover this one seems incomplete.  I'm missing on the Big Snake, the evil mother, and a Heathrow Airport administrator.  Does that sound about right?

Nice! I believe the chatter was after Season 12 and 19, Seasons 18, 20, 21, 25 and 26 made the most sense because of the higher amount of location shooting/film usage for stories in them.

I put up my entire season 19 dvd set up for bids on ebay to help pay for this. That video by Tegan really sells it to me.

I'm pretty annoyed we in the USA didn't get that gorgeous Limited Edition packaging that the UK edition had, not to mention the really nice booklet! Still, it's a cool set and I'm glad I got it, even though it's a 'double-dip'.

I'm looking forward to the Davison set. I hope they'll include that funny Jovanka Airlines promo on the discs themselves!

I can't remember, did the DVD version of Castrovalva have updated special effects? I'm very curious to see what they come up with!

No, the release of Castrovalva did not have any updated FX when it was released.

I like that enhanced shot of the Escher effect!

Been on vacation for a week so a bit late to he party. I pre ordered the UK version of this one. It will be much better than the first set simply due to all the 16mm location film sequence's existing alone on top of the new extras and new special effects for Castrovalva. Now if they can do some new SFX for Earthshock Ill be in heaven

Erm, Seasons 23 through 26 do not have any location film whatsoever. They were entirely recorded on videotape. The location footage, too (this was known as "outside broadcast", or O.B. video). The only film in these seasons are SFX/model shots.

Most of the film for the '70s seasons no longer exists. Most of of the film footage is for the 1980s seasons (18 through 22).

Granted, that might mean seasons 23 to 26 would be easier/quicker to release than the rest, given that there would not be any film restoration work to be done (and they're about half the length of the earlier seasons). Quickie releases of those would make "three a year" a lot easier to accomplish if one of those release slots each year was one of these shorter, entirely-on-VT seasons.

Looks like Season 19/Davison Season 1 is now up on the big river for preorder. Dec. 4.

Worth every cent so far, made it to the end of the Visitation. In comparison to the DVD versions you will see improvement. Plus it's a season set so they had me at that:)
